Like many I'm in it to be the UP for my PA. I'll be happy once i have a shuttle pad in my backyard, and a bank out my front door.

I have to say that this is one of the most depressing threads I've read in a while. Why? Because the whole concept of elite-eliteprofessions is messed up. These are abilities that should be added to the existing professions, not abilities that should use those professions as merely a prerequisite. The Urban Planner abilities should just be added to the Architect tree. The Shipbuilding should just be added to the DE tree. Actually, I think that final assemble of ships should be added to one of the crafter trees, but that it should require components from just about all the existing advanced crafting professions.

No one is going to just play an urban planner or a shipbuilder. The only people playing those are going to be people with multiple accounts backed by a guild, and that's just messed up. They might as well not make them player craftable at all if they want to go that route, and just put in vendors that sell the finished products for credits.

well here is the link to the blueprint i promised, just want to share some creativity with all of you

few changes have been made since the blueprint was made:

much more has been built than the notes at the bottom suggest.....a few houses are slightly off line with others due to a change in design

yea well next time keep your comments to yourself, there are a few threads on the architect forums regarding elite-elite proffesions in general and how bad of an idea they are, go run your mouth there.....

This thread is for sharing of information about urban planner and player cities...some of us play the game to have fun and i for one cant wait to be a master architect AND urban planner

So if anyone has answers to above mentioned questions (DarkLordSyth where are you ) then please post, or if you have some nice productive idea or anything at all to do with the title of this thread im sure we'd love to hear it

soon as i get it on my website ill post a thread to the blueprint of my guild's player city, most of which is already built minus the actual player city buildings

Thanks for the info mkappus

I got one more question that may have already been answered somewhere but i havent seen it...

What are the requirements to start a city?

Can anyone just buy a City Hall off a urban planner and start an outpost?

I have about 40 houses in the ground in city style right now, with a goal of 80 before player cities come out (http://www.yetivision.com/~yetis/roi.htm)

if i place the city hall in the middle of those 80 houses, will the city automatically receieve the city status that comes with 80 residents?

I believe only a novice politician can place a city hall, at least only a novice politician can be a mayor. As far as we have been told a city hall and a politician are all that is required.

For your 80 cities, first they all will have to be within the city limits radius. Second, they all have to be a declared primary residence for the owner. Here is where I am not 100% sure. I believe someone will have to go to the city hall terminal and declare they want to be a resident of your city. Technically speaking someone can drop down a house within your city limits and not become a citizen to avoid taxes, I think. Not real sure if any declared residence automatically becomes a city resident, or if that person has to actually do something.

As you get people declaring to be residents, you should qualify for the higher and higher levels of cityhood. This is what is posted on the in development page, "

As the city's resident population increases, the city can upgrade in rank (city class). A Rank 1 Outpost becomes a Rank 2 Village up to a Rank 5 Metropolis. Each rank provides access to new types of city services and expands the borders of the city allowing for more structures to be placed in the city.

Jigrah it is not stated explicity anywhere. The idea is that if a new city hall has to be X meters from an NPC city, and Y meters from any other city hall, therewill bea finite number of building locations. So on Corellia where there are lots ofNPC cities, depending on how people place their city halls you will be limited in how many acceptable building locations there are for Player Cities. The guess is 5-12.

On Dantooine with only 3 NPC outposts, there is much more room for acceptable building locations. So Corellia and Naboo may have 5-8 player cities, while Dantooine could have 10-15.

The big question right now is what are the values for X and Y.

Ugh, there is a PA near us that is bigger then we are, I wonder how they will feel about combining or what.

Hopefully people will keep on open mind about cities. I do not plan on trying to make my city for my PA only. There is a lot of benefit to having multiple PAs in one city:

1. The more people you have the more amenities you qualify for.

2. More people means a larger tax base to help support the city.

3. More people means a larger possible militia to help defend against faction raids.

I imagine the successful player cities will be those that welcome everyone and have multiple PAs within them.

However, different PAs cooperating and voting and working together will be something we have to learn. I don't see that being natural to too many players.
