That is completly true.

I only have the lots of 4 players ( my business partners ) and onlytwo thirdsof those are dedicated to our archetect line ( my line ). the other lots are specifically aimed at my partners needs ( and they dip into my resources a bit as well )

I am limited to how much I canbuild using the lots I have avaliable.

There are other busniess models and right now buying reserouces and making hosues is a viable busienss, I am not sure it will be8 months from now, maybe, maybe not.

Only time will tell.

I should add,

I can make more than one house a day, but that is only because I have partners and we share lots ( more like they let me take over some of thiers ). With my business model the only way to increase production is to increase partners. Not somethign we do lightly.

So my business will always be limited in that respect.

Redeeding add ~30% to the cost. Travel add < 1% in bulk. So instead of it being 0.45 cr per resource, it's only be 0.59 cr per resources taking into account redeeding and travel cost. If you want to add critical failure, well, nobody know how often it happen. But let's be on the high side and say critical failure occur 10% of the time. That's only add 11% to the cost. So now, his cost is a big whopping 0.69 cr per. Selling at 2.5 cr per is still a 400% markup.

Stop complaining because you see your money cow being swiped by somebody else. It's a free enterprise.

I have gotten 11 e-mail from folks saying they agree with me or feel they understand architect and their profession better. That was my end goal. Most prejudice, whining and non-understanding comes from ill-informed people. Thanks to the above for helping me keep this thread near the top.

I still wonder why non- architets are the ones primarily arguing against a fair price, compared to other professions. It's the ginorance factor I guess.

Wow!!!! 11 whole emails. What's that, like 0.00000001% of the number of architects in the game. And just because the lemme all jump over a cliff doesn't make jumping over the cliff right.

Ill-informed. Hmm, which poster doesn't post any concrete data. The one calling other people ill-informed.

The ignorance factor--right. Bottom line, who got money in the bank? The only one whining with prejudice are the one refusing to face reality.

THIS ECONOMIC SYSTEM ISN'T A CLOSED SYSTEM. And if you don't know what that mean, then who's prejudice, whining, and non-understanding???

Why does it matter people sell houses for 2cr/resource

If you do not like it stop selling buildings altogether, I did, I do much better now, and a lot less stress.

It is really a shame that architects can only compete on price. That fact has essentially gotten us to where the profession is now. No way to differentiate your product so it becomes a commodity worth less than the resources used to make it. No way to tell an architect who really pays attention to detail and selects only the top resources for their products from someone who just slaps theirs together with any old ore and metal.

I have seen what quality differentiation can do for a product in this game first hand. It happened overnight when they brought in crafting station functionality values. Suddenly my products could be easily differentiated from other players who did not take the time, care and effort that I did when I collected and assembled my stations. The result, I could set a price that took into account cost of assembly (time, effort, rarity of components) not just the raw cost to mine the resources.

The rare people that actually commented on my price quickly asked when I could deliver when I told them the functionality number I could get mine to. Often it was several times the funcationality of what they had been using.

Suddenly I was selling diamonds, not concrete, and I have not looked back.

I also have started to do more consulting business, being paid directly for my time and not for resources. That is also working out much better since people feel they are getting value that way.

Cheers,

Who cares what prices people sell at. That's not even the main issue. The real issues are that houses really don't add anything to a combat profession, and that there's no repeat business for architects. Don't waste your energy talking about symptoms.

Way to go Dayln,

I have had similar arguments on this board and feel that I am in the minority (at least with Architects who post here), thats ok cos its only gonna be the canny few that will still be in buisness this time next year.

Selling high gets you lots of money quick - selling low lots of customers long.

Og - dont call people cheaters like that - it makes you seem very unsporting.

Anyone selling for less than 5 cr per unit is a duper. Og_the_log is correct. Just has the number wrong.

"I am going to automaticaly label those selling for less then 3cr per resource on their products as a duper."

And, exactly who gives a **edit** what you label other players?

Hey, I'm going to automaiticaly label those complaining about crafters selling too cheap as a whiner.
