Why would you want to be a crafter (archi) limited to a couple lots. I'm sorry but if you can use 5 Lots to be a good Archi and keep a vendor filled then you are my hero.
Cant be done..but i dont plan to argue this point with you because you are the only elite arch out of every server that can do it..or you just dont get any buisness. I couldnt produce 150 heavies every 2 weeks @ 75k each and buy my resources at 2-3cpu using 5 lots and be able to play the rest of the game.
Removing the /pay is bull and will just create more Condemened harvestors and more swaps. SOE should stop sticking it to crafters instead of limiting our gameplay. How about the DEVS fix some bugs and be useful and maybe the CSR get some training in customer service.

Theres my 2 cents..Flame away. Im done with this Topic
FAR be it from me to tell the player correspondant and one of the most respected architects on the boards what to do, but...
Can we keep the lot swap ideological debate out of the thread? There is a slew of them in the forum of old that contain all the debate one could ever want to read, or we could open another thread and re-hash it out again. I just don't want to see yet another thread buried under a debate that seems to do little to sway either side from their equally dearly held convictions on the matter.
Bel
Man, I was just beginning to miss seeing a lot swap thread....

There's your problem, and its the second biggest problem Architect faces.
PEOPLE DONT CHARGE ENOUGH
I charge 228k for HMMI, and I sell about 2 a month on average (bursts of 2 to 6 per person every othe rmonth or so).
Two Hundred, Twenty Eight thousand Credits.
At that cost, I am able to hire Miners to get my resources for me. I win, the Miners win, and the Customer wins.
I respectfully suggest that you are not fully taking advantage of your position as an Architect. I would be willing to bet that you, as a dedicated Architect who *wants* to keep a vendor stocked and provide a service to your community, would find the game much more pleasant if you doubled your prices. I promise you will make *at least* the same profit every month. You will sell less, but make the same, and work less for it.
Lot Swaps are not required to run ANY business in the game. I've done them all. With and without lot swaps. I would suggest everyone who is doing it to write up a plan for how you will cope once they are finally taken away. It *is* going to happen. It might be next publish, or sometime in late 2007, but it *will* happen.
I sell my heavy BER13s for 100k each
I collect my own resources, I have 2 characters, and my friend has two characters-that way I have about 35ish lots to play with, and since I'm in a guild I could use even more.
I would suggest people to take advantage of the good thing, get in a guild and use non crafters extra lots =D

KING Pawlin The Elitist is amused by your defensiveness and your' "take my ball and go home" debate tactics.
If you would like instruction in factory logistics then see our royal Administrative Assistant and Keeper of the Outlook Calender to ask for an audience with ourself.
All Hail!
KING Pawlin the Elitist hath decreed it so.
The Royal Beach Volleyball Tournament will be rescheduled once a suitable replacement ball can be found.
The beach volleyball shall go on with or without a ball.
The KING enjoys the bouncing.

If I want to run my business in a way that I find enjoyable for me and reasonable for my customers, yes, I do need more than one factory. Otherwise, it's just a drudge and a job of nothing but waiting, especially if I can't afford to buy every resource I need.
You can play the game however you want. Thats fine with me. And of course I'm also free to declare that I don't think we need lot swaps and that the game should not allow it.
Why can't you afford to buy resources? Aren't you selling your goods at a profit? Or are you selling master produced items for less than what the raw materials would go for?
We don't need lot swaps. I don't need them. You don't need them. Nobody NEEDs them. (note I'm making a distinction between NEED and WANT) If lot swaps didn't exist then the other methods would fill the gap. Maybe you'd rent all your lots, that would be cool by me. But don't tell me you need something that is not mandatory. You WANT it.
Lot swaps are not intended and SOE may nerf them at any time. You ought to be prepared for that eventuality, like it or not.

Your "we" statementsare very inclusive. "Some" or even "most" would be an accurate statement, and one which I agree with. But some people, in order to complete, do need the swaps. You are confusing your own view of how you play your game as the view everyone should be taking.
Why do you say 'some people' need them to compete?Who are those people? Why do they specifically need lot swaps? Why only 'some' rather than everyone? Do the people they compete with have lot swaps too?
What if those 'some' people didn't have lot swaps, then what would happen? Would they sell less? And.. ?
If nobody had lot swaps then we'd all be on equal footing. Fair, right?
I'm just differentiating between 'NEED' and 'WANT'. The original statement was that 'archi's cant do business without swap lotters'. Thats someone putting their view of how the game shoudl be on everyone and thats what I was disputing from the start.
I'm not saying using lot swaps is evil or morally wrong. I'm just saying that nobody 'NEED's it. They are not mandatory. We can operate without them.
If you feel youWANT more lots then you can rent them from an active player on your server.

Oh and if everyone bought Ore off the vendors in the galaxy then your ore would not be 1-2 cpu. So you might want to keep the people that like to mine their own ore thinking lot swaps are required.

true on both points but once the market increases to a price that no one can afford, everyone will lose.
