Okay, I have to step back in here, Surius, and apparently Dalyn, since you agree so fervently.

I've tried Creature Handler. I'm not proud to have ventured to the dark side, but it was necessary to hunt anything bigger than paralopes. The only profession easier thus far to achieve, inhumble opinion,is Ranger, which levels up through mask scent for half its tree. Pets are phenomenally tough, healable, undestroyable, and FREE for a creature handler.

You mention the *trauma* of having to clone and run several minutes back to the point of death, hoping the baby of choice will still be a baby. Oh, such trials and tribulations! (pose dramatically) And running through such dangerous territory, too, with only your pets and weapons to protect you, too. How scary.

Have you any flipping idea how many minutes/days/weeks of continual crafting, grinding, and hopefully selling it takes to be a crafterof alevelwho can actually make a decent living? An afternoon's work (at the most) to get a super item that will allow the character to leap tall buildings in a single bound seems like supremely small amounts of effort in comparison. And there is no resource management, no replacement cost, and hardly any upkeep - just feed them once after they kill that Krayt dragon for you. Gee.

Now, if time is valuable to these poor, betrodden creature handlers and they get to charge for it, why not crafters? Why not tally up the keystrokes and mouseclicks required to get to any master, and add them to the base cost? Because it gets you flamedby people who run 20k missions on Endor and have too much money to spend, but want to be cheap anyway. Or run out of business by the Wal-marts of Star Wars who think 1.5 cpu is enough profitbecause they can sell 100 harvesters a day.

I loved the Porsche comment. I agree wholeheartedly, and it fits exactly what I'm trying to say. The thing I hoped to get people to realize in a larger sense is that it's okay to be greedy when you are in business. Really. It's expected. Why the heck are you IN business if not to make as much money as possible? Sure, I'll probably get flamed for that, because some people are just doing it for fun, or 'for the love' or whatever. Join a charity. Or,go become master CH, run your big money missions, and give the creds away to strangers. Then you can preach to me about wanting to be successful.

Ok, first off yes I do know what goes into crafting. I was at one time a master architect/Artisian/weaponsmith. I have never charged more that 3cpr for anything I made, except a few weapons that required rare resources. Those were priced based on what I had to pay for the rare resources. Other than those rare resources, I harvested everything I needed Myself. and yes, I was in it because I loved crafting. I have always been a crafter in all the MMORPGs I played. I loved the idea of providing ppl with the stuff they wanted. The more ppl I supplied stuff too, the more fun it was for me. The higher the prices, the less ppl bought from me which ment less fun. Lower prices were the way to go. Money didn't matter anyways. there wasn't anything out there I need that badly. Even at 3cpr I had enough money to buy anything I wanted. I never did have a large bank account, but had the money comming in when I needed it to get what I wanted. it worked well.

Iam no longer a crafter for the most part, not because I disliked it or couldn't compete, but because a friend of mine started playing and I started hunting with him. I began to love the comat aspects of the game so I decided to go that route. i started working for BH, the switched towards ranger/squad leader. When I mastered Scout I desided to go Ch. I was half way done with that when I changed my mind again. I am now a smuggler and almost master merchant. the merchant was to help my guild out selling their stuff.

So I do know what crafters do, I know what Chs do. Ch is almost as easy to master as Architect is if you have the resources. Really how much time does it take to make structures when you use a factory to make tons of the sub components. I know I did it. So don't give me that time crap. It doesn't fly. It takes you less time to make a guild hall than it does for a Ch to travel out to tame a rancor. Those only sell for about 50K and your guild hall will sell for no less than 250K. So where is there money coming from? Not selling stuff. It is from missions, but that is a totaly different topic.

Not to mention "greedy Artisans" who sell HQ crafting tools for 50cpu (me)". Saw others offer the same quality items for 100cpu and those sold as fast as mine do.

I've made 30 million in profits since the experimentation patch went live. I was doing well already, but since the patch I make about 1 million per day now in profit. In the last week I've bought about 5 million in resources, bought a Holocron for 2 million, gave a friend 4 million, and I still have millions more than I did at this time last week.

yeah lets see a screenshot of your inventory with 30 million. i'll believe it when i see it. if people are buying harvestors from you for 10 x resources used, they're complete idiots.

Hmm in the past week i dont even wanna think about what ive made.. ONLY in the past week mind you...

charging :

35k per 7kg min

60k per 7kg flora/chem

75k per 8kg min

100k per 8k flora/chem/etc

160k per 10/16 heavy/fusion

225k per 11/17 heavy/fusion

sold 4 PA halls this week and god knows how many houses and such

Dont be so quick to call people a liar.. i got thru money like water, stuck 2M into guild structures today for maitence and my bank accts is STILL up 1M from what it was yesterday... I offer speedy service, they get their order within an hour usually.. minutes if im not working on another... and people WILL pay more to have their stuff asap I CANT keep deeds on my vendor.. i stock a few random heavies each day and they are gone within a few hours... its like christmas for architects!

Sure, long term it will lower prices... i was speaking short term and the increased prices....

It will be particularly interesting to me to see what happens when in order to get the higher rates you will have to pay more maintenance.

I'm curious who will pay that much more maintenance to draw a few thousand extra resources per day.

I agree Ropock, short term it will raise prices and raise demand, but that wont last very long. I want to play an architect a year from now, and longer. Long term without decay experimentation as implemented will hurt the architect class

First off, you don't believe palomino has 30 million? Have you visited his shop? This guy is professional in every sense of the word. His vendors are ALWAYS stocked and they are VERY impressive. If this is not enough proof in and by itself let me say one more thing...

I am a very succesful architect with well over 30 million myself, I recently discovered palomino's ability to provide me with items needed to make 11kg/hr harvestors about a week ago, since that discovery,I alone have spent well over 2 million with him myself.

Keep up the good work Palomino, disregard the haters, some of us realize your integrity.

For the record, I believe he has 30 mil, if I was playing from the begining of SWG I would have that much, in a couple of months I will anyway.

How exactly does the kg/h equate to# of resources harvested per hour?

8kg/hr = how many resources per hour?

My price list has one important factor in it : TIME. If i have one in stock, or if the person is willing to wait, i charge pretty cheap prices. But if the person wants it ASAP then i at least double the price depending on what he wants. So here it goes :

type of harvester in stock or willing to wait//// ASAP

medium no wall rate 7 20k 40k

medium wall rate 7 40k100k

heavyrate 10120k 250k

basically for ASAP i have to buy the resources so it make sense to raise the prices. Of course i don't get

many 'ASAP' orders but when i do people understand the price

good luck to you all

I started with +2k per point. Now I using +3k for 1 extra ER. +8k for 2 extra ER... not very much. But then my long time customers get mad at me for such high pricing... Sigh, this is insane!
