10cr per resource on my harvesters.

8kg/hr medium mineral 35k

11kg/hr heavy flora/chem 250k

11kg/hr heavy gas 230k

11kg/hr heavy mineral 280k

17kg/hr fusion 265k

Experimented parts so that any architect can match my harvester extraction ratesfor 10k each.

I've made 30 million in profits since the experimentation patch went live. I was doing well already, but since the patch I make about 1 million per day now in profit. In the last week I've bought about 5 million in resources, bought a Holocron for 2 million, gave a friend 4 million, and I still have millions more than I did at this time last week.

"Charging anything over 5CPU is price gouging and nothing more than greedy architects."

Yes please stop buying from all crafters then sicne you think they are all greedy. If your a combat proession please pick up a crafting profession and sell things if you think you can do better.

Also back on topic. Unless this profession is altered that makes it an actual challenge to craft of a lot of the wares, there will always be people that will sell for 3-4cpu. A weaponsmith and armorsmith will charge those prices because it is a pain to get all the needed resources and a pain to make all the items to keep in stock. When anyone can spend a few hours a week using up a weeks worht of resources, that just isn't a challenge. You can always make a heavy harvestor. There can never be a shortage other than pulling power. A new arch can grind up to master and instantly compete. That isn't the case in any other profession except tailor and DE. The 2 other professions that experimentation doesn't matter.

Also the new experimentation changes didn't go far enough. If 850 UT steel gets 10kg/hr, there is no need to get some 870 UT stuff that just spawned. But a weaponsmith in the same situation would get the new stuff. I don't know why it can't be somethign like 10.34 kg/hr. I would guess database space, which is sad.

yeah lets see a screenshot of your inventory with 30 million. i'll believe it when i see it. if people are buying harvestors from you for 10 x resources used, they're complete idiots.

and this is the exact reason i said experimentation would not solve our problems.... the price models are so set in peoples minds that there will always be people that sell for the 2-3 cpu model regardless of the experimentation.

it would have to be a ton harder to make a difference before most people would make any serious changes to their pricing models based on this.

you asked for experimentation to make a difference, well, all it did was change the extraction rates, not the perceived value by most architects.

Well I know on Tarquinas there is a guy in Moenia that sells the new tricked out heavies for 45K each. Doesn't matter what type, it is 45K. I get mediums for 8K-12K depending on the pull rate. This guy is making money left and right, even more now that I have been turning everyone I talk to on to him for their architect needs. He sells all structures for less than any other architect I have seen. His prices are atleast half what architects on Tatooine charge. I am even setting up a shop in my marketplace on tatooine for him. The ppl of tatooine deserve the great prices he charges also. With Architects like him and merchants like me to help, we will force all you over priced architects to lower your prices sooner or later.

As for the What about <insert crating professions here>, they charge more that x credits per resource. Well this is ok for weap smiths and armor smiths to a point because some of their resources can not be found anywhere in the galaxy for months at a time. T21 rifles haven't been made for ever on tarquinas because the resources just aren't spawning. even with this rarity of rersources, they still don't have to charge an arm and a leg for the weapons. I pay 3K for a massively tricked out FWG5. Most weaponsmiths would charge 7-9K for the same gun. Again, with my help, this weaponsmith is going to branch out sales to numerous planets and help start to regulate the prices through undercutting competition.

Someone mentioned Chs and their prices. Well the first thing you need to realise is that they are risking mad amounts of time and death to tame those creatures, train them and then sell them. Imagine going out 5K-7Km outside of town to try and tame a big creature and when you try and tame it you get aggroed and die. Now you end up back at the Cloning Center and have to travel back out to that spot to try and tame again. Isn't that worth the money they charge? besides, the stuff they sell can only be controled by other CHs for the most part. The stuff that can be controled by Non-Chs doesn't sell for too much.

I do think that all of you crafters deserve to make a profit, but 400% Markup on a harvester is rediculous. How about dropping it down to atleast 100%. I know not all architects are doing this, but DarkFlinx is, or maybe he is just spending way too much on resources. with these new Experimentations on Harvesters, you would only have a cost to harvest the resources of maybe .5c per resources if that. I currently sell my resources at 2c each and plan on dropping them to 1c-1.5c each once I run out of resources harvested on the older slower harvesters. I can get more now faster, which means it costs me less to get. So I sell it for less. it's called passing the savings onto the customer. It is good bussiness. You pass any aditional expenenses onto them, why not any savings? If you don't, that is what makes you greedy.

Sit down Ropock....

Are you sitting?

I agree 100%, experimentation did nothing but up the extraction rate of a harvestor. The new standard is 10 BER, not a range of heavy harvestores between 7 and 10, but just raised the expectation and functionality to 10. This adds more to the supply side of architecture and in the long run hurts us all. They would have done better to leave it alone, unless, and this is a big unless, Unless experimentation is just a precursor to decay.

I charge the following and it has worked well:

Base resources used X's 4.

+1 extraction rate +10k to base

+2 extraction rate + 25k to base

+3 extraction rate + 40k to base.

+4 extraction rate + 55k to base.

I asjust my prices based on previous weeks sales and if someone places a large order.

hehe, well, it only makes sense... there's virtually no difference right now in what experimentation does. you can gather so much halfway decent steel to make the high rates, you get one schematic and wallah you are set for a long long time as long as you only use that resource on those individual units.

boy, that sure was difficult, heh.

it really means nothing short of a few more short term sales to bump the market... it does absolutely nothing to pricing.

People are such idiots. You know how much it costs in raw materials to make a car? About 100 bucks. You expect to buy a porsche for 100 bucks?

The whole "charging by the resource" model is idiotic. Would you pay the same amount for a crappy gun as you would for a tricked out, high damage one? Of course not, you'll pay 20 times more for the good one because it WORKS BETTER.

Why on earth should an architect make something that almost doubles its worth and then give it away for the same price as he/she did before? Lunacy.

Ropock,

In increase in long term supply vs demand does ( or will ) affect pricing. Now the same number of architects can saturate the market 40% faster than they could before with products that last forever.

Higher supply, and soon lower and faster decreasing demand, you dont think that will affect the pricing..... I do.

I buy from Palomino myself (Darkflinx) as his skill tape enhanced fingers can craft 8 and 11 BER components.

I have no doubt he makes millions a day and Ill tell you why.

I spend several hundred thousand there a week !

His shop is close to town, it is very very well stocked. Many hundereds of items on well defined vendors in a very well outfitted house. He is polite, quick and helpful. As a competitor I am delighted he lives on the dustball that is Tattoine and I fear him opening an outlet on the lovely Naboo.

He specialises in some items and stocks crated components for other crafters and networks well. Several tiimes when Ive been on Tatt I have heard others commend his work.

I should add I sell for less than him (by about 10%). However for that saving you do NOT get the massive range he offers in his one stop shop.

Its not about price per resource. Its about time, ability, store management, regular customers and local demand.

I have a fluidic pricing policy, but I sell my stuff based on two things :

a) Demand

b) My Work

Thus guild halls and crafting stations which take alot of time to make are dispraportionaly expensive and I dont make furniture (as the vendor 7 day cycle thing drives me nuts and a good furniture vendor has to be overstocked !).
