Thread: Architect too easy?
When they changed the XP requirements at the end of Beta 3 it was a lot better, and then people screamed. So they lowered them to where they are now. You are right. It is too easy, and that is why there are more architects per server than any other elite crafting profession. It takes 35000 xp to reach the first box in weaponsmithing. The highest resource intensive item you can make are rifle-blaster barrels. They give you about 120 xp. It takes 292 of them to hit one box. Now structural blocks are 500 xp each. It takes 55000 xp for the first box. That equates to only 110 items. However like you pointed out the structural blocks are infinetely more useful.
Now weaponsmithing again, the weapons you create are totaly useless unless you have at least Tech IV than they are mildly useful. As an architect the day you hit novice you can start cranking out small homes and equipment factories. Both of which are sellable.
I don't know if it's changeable now, but it is the easiest profession to hit Master in.
I made architect in 12 days after release. This profession is embarassingly easy, unless you lack the business sense to afford the harvesters.
A solo architect with average playing time should be able to master the profession in 3 weeks, given only their own lots. If you can rent lots you can do that alot faster. If you have a lot of playtime, it can be done alot faster.
This assumes a grind: mining metals and making stations, which are the fastest way to level that I know of, if rather inefficient. If you are an anti-grind worshipper, you can still go very fast making walls and such.
In fact, architect is the easiest profession for those who don't grind, as you can still level 3x faster than any other profession while making stuff you will eventually need. Try doing that in Weaponsmith!
In beta it was much easier. Right at release they made arch much harder, but obviously not hard enough. But I believe that this whole game is way too easy and have posted as such many times. But in a game of easy professions, architect is embarrasingly easy.
That is why Master Architects are a dime a dozen.
its very clear,
no its not to easy compared to other professions.
here is why:
first of all think about a single palyer and not the ones who got tonns of lots from friends or PAs.
the exp isnt calculated for the number of combines, but on the number of resources you use.
so we architects use TONNS resources, so it just seems faster as others, but keep in mind a single player has to get also that amounts of resources what takes normally long time. take a starting architect days to gather enough resources for 1 medium house.
later when u get bigger harvesters its for sure easier to get resources but you still cant build 10 houses a day when u dont get resources from other ppl (or with use of their lots).
so u need lesser amout combines then others, but u need same amount of resources to craft away
so No, its not to easy.
but for sure lot sharing and PAs destroyed the market value of our good sadly
rath ,
my point was we get exp for used resurces crafted away, that means same as other profession.
so, we are not faster or easier, we just need lesser clicks, but same resource masses to get exp.
that prolly ALL professions are to easy to max out is a different thing ![]()
The achitect profession is easy once you get past installations and have a fleet of medium/heavy havesters... then its a breeze... the hard part is finding buyers for what you build.
But yes its too easy.
what do you sell each wall for? if you dont mind my asking, and did you sell them on the bazaar terminals or personally? thanks in advance
walls are 3k resources without fails counted.
welcome to the masochist market, oh wait its architect called, go figure a price per unit for walls, i am sure u get them from some ppl for 6k cr /sigh
i stopped thinking about right prices :/
You see, architects are really miners. If you mine and sell your resources for around 3c/u, you can make a ton of cash. I sell some of my stuff for significanly more, expecially if it is rare, extremely good in certain stats, or not available anymore. I often sell some really nice metals for 500u/3000c on the bazaar, and they almost always sell out.
What is funny about the architect forums is that people are always complaining that they are super poor because they can't sell their houses for the cost of the materials.
So, sell the materials!
(woot, got a 1 star on my post above. That means I hit close to the mark!)
Usually I'd bust your chops Daynn, but I'm trying for a new posting approach.
You see, ANYONE can be a miner, all you need is lots and some survey skill (ok maybe not everyone if they dont want to spend the artisan points but you get the idea). Architects are made to build stuff, obviously, and that's why they complain when they cant sell for decent prices. I do find it amusing that as an ex architect and now active gouger, err weaponsmith (yes WS's gouge horribly because they know if you want to fight youHAVE to have a weapon unless you're tk, ugh) you'd come here and post rather useless advice. Might be better to just tell them to do the same as you, leave arch and goWS or even AS.
Why is it so hard to accept that architects should be making money doing what they do?
I am making money as an architect. Good money at good profits selling finished products.
There is nothing wrong with being a miner, I think that is a good profesion, I think your prices are too high but that is just my opinion, and it doesnt count any more than yours does.
II think Miner shoud have been a seperate profesion, but I am not really complaining.
BTW My vendors now sell Weapons made byone of mypartners ![]()
