Tommar,

You might be right have not built that yet, bartered for one a few weeks ago with some walls, but have not built my own. I am going to need a second one very soon as I finish upgrading my harvestors, still have not finished that job.

Tip to new architectes barter walls for better equipment if you dont need the cash

Actually I may need to back down on my origonal post, perhaps it was a tremendous advantage to have 3 of us working together. I dont have a second account, I am a big fan of SCS, but I do have partners.

Exactly, when you crit fail on a PA Hall and loose enough resources to make 220 Laser Rifles, it will balance out.

Every crafter gets the same XP, guns, shirts, houses are all 2X. Architects just use fewer mouse clicks.

Far, far, far fewer mouse clicks.

Architect is the easiest crafting profession to master, that I've seen.

Plus we use all the junk resources that no one else wants.

I think by Doesn't Count, they are referring to the fact that the only limiting factor in achitectual advancement is resources. Mostlylow-grade ore.

To get a real understanding you need to calculate the resources-per-xp number. To get 400 building xp on a structual module it takes 250 resources (at work, going from memory here). How many resources it take to get 400 weapon xp? I have no idea.

Anyways, I have 4 harvestors only mining low grade ore. 2 mining steel. And can only build 2 houses a day to 'grind'. Thats about 13k xp, but still only get 2 products per day.

it's been awhile since i actually paid attention to my xp accrual, but i'm pretty sure that when i was grinding, i was getting 500xp per structural module, and an extra 1k for the wall assembly. I've seen 400xp per brick mentioned here a couple of times....

architect may have been easier to do, once you have the resources. i think that's the trick. you get 500xp per item, but can only make 4 with 1000 units of resources. where as they only get 100xp per item, but can make 20 of them. I'll grant you that Architect is probably, as worst, less tedious...but it also has the lowest profit margins...here's my new assertion.

"At some point during their ascent up to or reign at the Master Level of their crafting profession, each person will wish that they were in another line of work."

The Weaponsmith wants the Archi's quick leveling, and the Archi wants the MWS's profit margins.

I agree, and I had the advantage of 2 other guys and some of thier lots.

Maybe it isnt as out of whack as I thoguht it was. But I still think I made master faster in this profesion than I could have in any other elite profesion.

Yeah, arch is easy to master. Arch also has the most useful novice items. Novice AS/WS/DE have junk to make. Arch can make usable & sellable items from day 1. (Sellable is of course debateable, if there is absolutely no call for small structures on your server)

It's the most resources to master, but the fewest clicks. WS & AS aren't that bad either. I managed to master Armorsmith in a bit over a week (being gone for the weekend), but that was a LOT LOT LOT LOT LOT LOT LOT of clicking. I recommend it only for the insane. I got the field wear 2 last night so I can make the tailor parts too, and now I'm set making Composite as well.

The profits are WAYYY better on Comp armor than Deeds currently, and I believe as long as I keep chasing quality armor, & pushing the envelope of what's makeable, I'll have good business.

I was, at one time, a solo arch moving up the ladder. I did have two accounts and therefore 20 lots, but I was a solo arch. So, how'd I move up the ladder so fast? I just happened to accidentally run into a master arch while running back to my house...he happened to be running into town. I asked him if he could make a high quality chemical crafting tool for me (cause I can craft stim b's and they SELL LIKE HOTCAKES on the bazaar, and I really needed the money). He told me he could. So, i go to pick it up from his shop later that day.

Ended up asking his advice that day and many days afterwards. And, then, one day, he was nice enough to let me start grindin on his materials. I got no money from it, just experience...but I was HAPPY to get that. So, I kept that up for a few days. Never knew that when I first set foot on the ARC Hall doorstep that it would become my future home. My house now sits right beside the ARC PA Hall, and the word "ARC" appears between angle brackets next to my name.

It worked out very well. But, for the time that I was a solo arch, I was powering 12 extractors (3 med, 9 personal) and paying maint on all of them. I was pulling over 20,000 ore a day and was pulling about 12,000 power a day from my four wind gens. I was buying all metal and other material needed from other suppliers. But, I was scrapin by...and still getting invites to grind with ARC's material. Now that I'm a part of ARC, I have access to both their resources and mine. PA's help DRASTICALLY. And, while I haven't had too many encounters with other PA's, the guys in ARC are some of the nicest and most generous guys I've run into. So, hence I try to return the favor by building things for them for free.

Anyway, I digress...but to wrap it all up, being backed by a PA and having some very generous friends helps quite a bit. But, as a solo arch, I could build up to 10 walls a day by myself to grind....and that's a total of around 90K to 100K experience a day. Granted, that doesn't move you up incredibly fast, but it does move ya up the ladder pretty quickly.

Also, about those who get trained by archs who request money for training...why do they do that? I'm sure u can find another master to get trained by that would love to just help out another player.

Waste93,

Part of the difference is what I grind gets me 4X the experience as what they can grind, and the fact that what I grind I can actually sell for a profit. That makes it pretty easy.

Not sure I follow. Are you saying you get 8X per resource? Or you're just getting a lot more than your friends. Everyone should be getting 2X the resource cost of the item. You do not get XP for subcomponents (you got it when you made the component).

Remeber, Arch items take a vast amount of resources. I did a medium Naboo home yesterday. It uses 20600 resources. That is 41200XP for one item. Which is almost the 55k needed for a level 1 Arch skill. So yes we gain it in much larger chunks that say a weaponsmith that makes a 200 resource (400XP) weapon.

So yes Archs have the potential to earn very large chunks of XP on one successful combine. It's just a matter of the amount of resources our schematics use.

What I mean is what I grind ( structural modules ) gives me 400+ xp per unit

What they grind ( barrels ) gives them 90 xp per unit

And they cant sell what they grind, I can. That makes a HUGE difference. Sitting next to each other I gain xp 4 times faster than they to ( more materials of course ) and then sell what I make.

You are using less combines for the same number of resources. If all 3 of you start the night with the same number of resources you will finish faster but in the end will have gained approximatly (depending on crits) the same amount of experience.
