The materials I was using were 92% level resources. I went through three crates of 100% CUs, EDs and GPs trying to get amazing successes on two experiments, 5 points each. In the grand scheme of things, it actually wasn't too difficult to make, I was just really persistent. I've spent millions of credits gathering the resources to build these. I wasn't about to be denied.

i also was using the best resources probably to ever grace my server. i had 100% CU/GP/EDs and 95% MSSs. i think i went wrong when i didnt try getting 2 amazing successes on the MSS and also on the final combine. heh, i was in a mad rush to get all four station schematics. a stupid freak hail storm killed the power to my house for several hours. god was conspiring against me lol
I was able to get 100% on my control units, electronig GP's and energy distributors. And I had a DE friend make a 100% DSC. But I wasn't able to improve my MSS results at all. I think I only hit about 90% on those. Any ideas what I might have been doing wrong? I ran out of time so I only made about 10-15 of the sub parts and only had about that many tries to make an MSS. I only have 10 points of exp and some if not most of my testing was not in a reseach center. I discovered that trick late in the game last night.
Very interesting, I went to make one yesterday myself, and noticed an odd result.
I used old MA parts out of crates I had sitting around. Probably not good stats, but none show on the items themselves, and I hadn't recorded the results when I made them. Iremember that the DroidStorage compartments were good (the maker was proud), but not just how good. I did have good resources though.
When I made the station, I got 100% after experimentation! While that was nice, the functionality only came out about 20.2% (with lots of digits after the decimal). Looking at that it was clear that the 100% didn't mean anything. But then again, the functionality may not either.
So far, I haven't found anyone other than myself on Tarquinas that made 45.0 stations.

Of course, this is all speculation since the Devs, to my knowledge, have NEVER said a single word about the advantages of high-rated tools and crafting stations.
i did an experiment last week with Ubese shirts and sockets....the possiblilities where 0-4
i have a 43 stationa nd a 14.79 tool. I tried a couple of resource combos...
all my tests showed was that it was purely random. it was a classic bell curve. got a 4 socket about every 8th try. i have a feeling that probably holds true with other crafting aspects
