Because they don't respond doesnt mean they don't know about it.. Every single bug that has been discovered in the architect line has been A. CS Ticketed. B. /bugged and C. reported on this forum well more than once.Just because they havn't responded to you with loving care doesn't mean they do not know about the problem and are not working on it.

Most fixes to the architect line tend to only affect architect where as changes to alot of the other professions affect almost everybody and thus take priority. It sucks but complaining about the same bug over and over in the forums doesn't increase its priority. Its been stated many times that they base thier priority on whats being reported in-game with /bug and CS tickets. If you /bug and CS ticket everything wrong with the architect line everytime it becomes an issue to you or a customer then you are doing your part .... as for the boards,I prefer to look beyond the bugs to the future of architect who biggest problem isn't bugs its the finality of the profession because there is almost no turnover.

At the very least if people are gonna ask/complain about current bugs they can do a /search and reply to existing topics instead of remaking the same topic over and over then wondering why it only got 3 or 4 responses.

If you truely want to get the devs to notice the problems with the architect line please please please /bug AND CS Ticket every incidence that impacts you or your customers gaming experience. These are why Droid engineering and Creature Handling have gotten so much attention by the devs. They recieved the most complaints in-game.

I don't deny that mag and you can make all the noise you want but why tell me and those like me that want to talk about other issues besides the bugs that we shouldn;t be talking about it. I find it rather refreshing to be able to discuss soemthing besides the same bugs over and over again.

As for the tetris drag n drop idea that is bloody brilliant. I honestly don't see it being that difficult to implement. But I honeslty don't know about coding. They already have drag n drog interfaces.

the house is on your computer, as is all the furniture... walls could be used as a kind of furniture, but items just don't have any actual 'crafting' in them;

i'd be happy to have a house that is there every time i log in... much less one whare i can move the bathroom closer to the kitchen.

but like i said, your right, it's nice to dream :-) *like my dream of having a bathroom! and a kitchen in my house!*

In my opinion, if you want to talk about the "Future of Houses", there is only one question:

How can Housing be made to be a renewable market for Architects?

Each server will ultimately have a completely enclosed population. Eventually no more characters can be created, and as we all know each person can only have 1 char per server. Who are we going to sell houses to 6 months from now, if everyone already has a medium/large home that they like? Ask the same question about Harvesters ... who is going to be buying them when - given a long enough timeline - everyone who is interested in resource collection has all the immortal & easily relocated large harvesters they want?

Droid Engineers, Tailors and even Weapon & Armorsmiths are all facing this same question. All of them sell goods that can either be easily repaired or never decay/die to begin with.

Couldn't agree more with Tendral.

Fix things first, then look to the future. I actually like Zarcaths idea about dropping walls into place to design our own stuff (even if it never happens). But that does not make it worth bringing up now.

Nice ideas are only nice at the appropriate time. Nothing personal Zarcath and Cyberthugg, but going in this direction will hurt all architects for the foreseeable future. We do not need to be dreamers when we are stuck in the mud.

Chocobacca. - still afraid to get furniture IV skill, will I fail even more then?

houses need to cost so much to up keep that people just want to buy a new one, but they need to take a full month to degrade, so as to encourage people to allow there houses to decay.

so at the end of a month it needs to take 25k to havekept up a small house 120k to up keepa medium.. and so on.

a small house should be able to be supported by about 2 hours of delivery missions *thats 20k*;

it's important that it takes a full month to decay, that way people are discouraged from actualy removing themoney from the supply, but rather incouraged to spend it on a new home every month.

Zarcath, please - for the love of all that is good and holy - don't make suggestions to the devs about what might be nice in the future at this point in the game. Highlight our top 5 issues and hammer those home. It's baby steps here - there are glaring issues that need to be addressed - make them the prority. Address future wishes as just that. Your proposal involves a massive re-design of the crafting system. Make our issues one that can be fixed within the current system.

Agree, 110%. I could care less about the style of houses and floor plans. Zarcath, we need our top issues fixed first before we start looking at bells and whistles.

Perhaps a template style would be interesting.

During the creation process, you would have a blank floorplan, and choose from a list of rooms/modules (like tetris blocks) that you can drag and place into the house. It would be the creators responsibility to make the best use of the area provided from the floorplan.

I'm not sure something like that is possible with the game engine though?

Don't know how feasible it is with the current engine, but I must admit I like that idea.

With that said, this is "wishlist" type stuff. I would be quite put out to hear the devs were working on something like this before all of the glaring, game busting bugs in structures are fixed.

Barraging the devs with wishlist items right now is, IMO, a "Very Bad Thing". We should be using our correspondent to identify the worst, profession limiting bugs and get them squashed out of the game before we get to tweaking and improvements. For one, we must get permissions fixed. It hurst both us and the merchants. And so many pieces of furniture are bugged it's not funny. And don't get me started on factories.

I am sorry if anyone mis-understood the reason for this thread. This is just a personal thought thread and is not something I would consider sending as part of the weekly report. Please do not take all my threads or post seriously as something "Official" that I would send in, unless otherwise noted in the thread or topic. I suppose I'll just post my thoughts on SWGCraft and leave this board for Official Correspondent business.

I'm with Jazzmanian, I think you're expanding the engine, and you might not know much about interior/exterior models and how most games use them. Its plausible, but I'm not sure if its possible.

Going a few steps down your paths road, customization is great, as long as I can still prefab those customizations into packaged solutions.

Breaking away from that design, I think we should be ready to expect their art-departments prefabricated designs with hopefully some of our input on live/playability.

They are already at a breaking point with database resources, by design, or flaw, its their opinion, but I don't think you can break that mold so easily especially with the layer of added complexity your idea brings to the table.

We must first think of things that their current engine can support, today, or tomorrow, those are things that can see rapid development.

Thank you for the constructive critism Ciordia9. I agree, with the current state of the engine the idea would be difficult to include without devoting a large amount of time to creating. The idea is more of an "expansion feature" then something patchable.

I'm not a Programmer, so I don't know how difficult it would be to code something that could handle "on-the-fly" fabrications. If the Developers added generic rooms to the world models and then assigned them to the room modules, it could act like a PoI.

So let's say you're creating a house, and you put in a circular room module and two square room modules. Drag and drop it onto your floorplan and then create the deed. Once the deed is placed, the world wouldrecognize the roomtags and then pull the room models from the world and put it in the house, pretty much like a self-contained PoI.

Perhaps looking at a system like that would be more feasible with the current engine, since PoI's seem to be pretty dynamic as it is.

Such as the Naboo Philosopher PoI, it creates a pavillion of sorts. So if your floorplan had a "garden" area, you could drag and drop the pavillion tag, and when the deed is placed, the server would place a smaller version of the PoI in your backyard.

Probably a bad idea to keep talking about this

Its never a bad idea. Those who don't like it don't have to participate but to shut down threads for those of us who do enjoy talking about non-bug issues is silly. You already put to rest fears about the types of things you will be sending in your report and that thes types of things are not the high priority. If people want to beleive this is the primary form of contact the devs use to address issues then let them. But to say that you shouldn't talk about certain things at all because there are other things that are more important to them is stupid and short sighted. This is what they want to see posted when they come in.

This bug sucks and I'm posting about it for the 20th time. Fix it fix it fix it fix it. Its ruining the game. Devs can't do anything right. you havn't responded to me you must not be aware of it. oh they are ignoring us, oh look they care only about droid engineering and creature handling etc...

It gets rather depressing after a while and its not accomplishing anything in my opinion. However I do let them have thier posts because it makes them feel better even if it means scanning past 10 threads dealing with the same furniture bugs.

I understand the worry from those that thought that since this is what he was thinking about that this was his highest priority but hes since allayed such fears and confirmed that game breaking bugs are his highest priority. Good deal now back to the discussion.

With such random spawn abilities that the game already possesses and utilizes I don't see it being that hard to impliment the exteriors will still be generally the same its the intereriors that need to get drawn. Requiring entry halls will allow the system time to draw the interior and reduce the load seeing as it wont be drawn unless you are enterign the structure.

The hard part is changing the spawn from random to player controlled where the creators floorplan gets used to make the layout rather then randomly chosen components and poof or rather than a cookie cutter deed.
