Ok, I have one for the master movers our there. I recently bought one of those bugged round couches and placed it in my house before I knew of the problem. I hope tonight to pick up my medium house and move in and redeed the small house.

Now here is the question. Since I have one piece of furnature that I am unable to select and pick up, what will happen? Will I be able to redeed with a piece of furnature still in the house?? Or will I be stuck with this small house till this bug is fixed?? Anyone run into a similar problem with this couch?

Very easy actually! Drop the item you want to place. Then use the following commands to move the item where u want it:

/move forward X - moves the item forward (forward being defined as the direction your avatar is facing) X amount. You can leave off X to get the gross placement then switch to X=1 to fine tune it.

/move back X - same, just moves the item back. Not too sure here the command might be backward instead of back.

/rotate left X - rotates the item X degrees left. Leaving off X rotates the item 90 degrees.

/rotate right X - same just right.

***ITEMS DROP AT THE SAME HEIGHT AT WHICH IT APPEARS ON YOUR AVATAR!***

Huh? This just means that if you drop a hat, the hat appears at head level, boots on the floor, etc.

To get a pair of boots on the wall (strange but someone might want to do it ), you're out of luck unless you have a 2 story house. Stand on the stairs, drop the boots, and then move them to whereu want them. The item will stay at the level at which it was dropped.

Hope this helps!

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me. I'm trying to sort out the furniture placement in my house, and I'd like to be able to place things on walls or on top of tables, generally above floor level as I have seen in other houses. I have read that you can do it by standing on the stairs at the desired heightand placing stuff, then moving it to where you want it, but I only have a small house, and consequently no stairs !

Is there any other way to do this that doesn't involve stairs, or am I going to have to save up and buy a medium house with stairs in it ?

Thanks

Nope, gotta have stairs otherwise its all a doorstop

I know small houses have a small step in the back but unfortunately you cant move objects through doorways.

Or just make a plea to Thunderheart, furniture placement in this game so utterly lame. It should be like dropping a structure with your mouse; red, can't do it, green, its all good. All the advance user interface capabilities in this game, and this is the best they can do for item placement in houses? Cheat by using the stairs?

I'd like to see new items as well. Like alot of the thing the dev built stuctures have. Weapon racks, sword racks, display racks, shelves you can put things on, rugs, etc.

a dev chat recently said they were going to work on putting in a Z axis for this sort of thing. Also mentioned a revamp on the furniture movement system to make it more user friendly. I'm just hoping it comes in soon.

Oh, and as for shelves, droid storage compartments look nice and you can stack them to make them taller.

I would like to add a question to this. How do you get the furniture to be placed at different angles? Mine can only be place at 90 degree angles. I have seen some really nice setups at 45's. I asked someone last night and she said she that whatever direction she stood is the direction her furniture faced when she dropped it. Mine always faces the same direction and then I have to turn it. Am I missing something?

Please Help.

Drop the item, target it, type: /rotate right (or left) 45 (or any number for the angle you want)

tada... you now have items facing all angles *grins*

You also can move the item for easier placement by using the /move forward (or backward) 10 (or any numer)
