What about the fact that there are two types of desk lamps but NO DESK!?

That being said, I agree with pretty much what everyone else says...

Levitate/yaw (axis rotate), types, colors, etc.

An easy one, in no particluar order.

A colour palette for furniture

A colour palette for house interiors - by room

More furniture including rugs, mats, paintings, wall hangings, plants and even more plants.

Lighting that works and different types, downlights, uplights, disco balls

New housing styles, a complete revamp of the corellian sub standard housing.

Place items on the balconies.

if not an up/down command then the ability to drop an item at a given height.

Better command interface for moving items around in a house.

Heh.. Where is the desk..? ( I have been thinking the same thing as the poster above on this issue...) Also .. isnt it funny that unless you have stairs you can't even place your desktop lamp on your makeshift cafe table/ desk??

Actually TH just posted today that a /move up command is coming in publish 7!! So finally we Corellians can decorate med homes nicely and the poor can get lamps on top of things.

As for the desk thing, yes I'd love to see that too but just so you guys know there is an imperial faction item (I think it's called desk) looks like one and works for it pretty well if you can spare the points/know smugglers.

Just figured the /move up command is great news that should go in here.

Z-axis movement, rejoice! (Please pardon me if I don't believe it until I see it...)

I echo everything said above. Essentially, we want our existing furnishings to be functional, we want more colors for what we can already make, and we wand more cool stuff to make! I like the idea of tailors and entertainers making rugs and paintings.

Also, if the armoire schematic bug fails to make the Top 5 List: Bugs, I think we should mention it here.

I'm not sure exactly how we work in the notion about item limits stifling interior design as a viable profession, particularly in large houses and PA Halls. 250 items is quite simply NOT sufficient to decorate a large house properly, let alone leaving room for storing personal belongings. I'm not hopeful that this problem will be addressed considering the past history of the issue, but I personally find it to be more of a show-stopper than the limited colors/variety of furniture.

I think at the Interior Designer level architects only should have the up down command, and maybe some others thrown in like rotate in different on a diff axis, and maybe change interior wall color (ok maybe a little too much at first) but i would love to see our prof have a little more utility. That way interior designers can actually get hired to do just that!

So you're saying that I am not qualified enough to decorate my own home let alone someone else's because I don't like crafting? How does that even remotely make sense?

I make my entire living doing just that already! I'm curious to see how /move up will impact my business. Perhapspeople will no longer pay me to avoid the frustration of decorating? We'll see...

I may be the only one that thinks this, but here goes: Do not give me a color option on furniture! I already hate having to pick the colors of streetlamps. I don't want to pick the color for someone else's couch too.

Instead, make a consumable that I can craft and sell that allows the customer to color it themselves. Just like for the vehicles. It would be fine if only the non-orange furniture that uses hides can be colored in this way. Also, anyone who buys the tool, should be able to use it. I don't want to be involved personally, other than making the tool.

top 5

1) Coloring of rooms (interior and exterior) this should be one of our renewable income sources. Have the paint last 30-60 days before needing a new coat.

2) some variation on furnature colors - not a lot just a few options

3) storage containers that store things. My walls are decorated with backpacks.

4) Interior lighting

5) add a few furnature items. If we got like 2-3 items per patch we would all be very happy.

Snap, I don't want to pick colours from a list, I want a colour grid to mix and match colours, same as the tailor has now. In a way this will create a renewable income as people change the decor of there house.

I would like control of what I made, and be able to sell new items of furniture, a tool that allowschanging of colours would pretty much dry up the furniture market after the first items had been produced. We need a larger selection of furniture, we the able to colour at creation. Thereby actually giving more tools to the interior designer.

PsychoticChipmunk Said...

Make large homes 450 items. It will actually help the database since it may cause some crafters to swap over. This way you are storing the same number of items on the database sans 2 actual homes giving it a bit of relief. The only real reason for the cap the way it is is to prevent large homes from popping up everywhere it seems, however urban sprawl isn't really that attractive of an alternative.

Having a Large home myself I have to agree with this. 250 items is hardly enough space to properly decorate one let alone store anything in a crafting station or backpack. I have 243 items in my house (Large Naboo) My two basement rooms are praticly bare of furniture. My crafting stations (I have one of each) have NO items in there hoppers because theres a lack of space. I use a small naboo next store for a storage shed and leave as much as i can in the output hopper on my factories. This is a pian!!

That said id also like to see...

1)Yand X axis movment for furniture (we have z right now) and z axis rotation (y right now) combining these you can effectivly place any object in any location at any angle without ever taking a step or rotating in place.

2) Furniture colorizationtool

3) More furniture types (including art)

4) Patio Placement

Interior design...how about wall colors? Wall placement options? Fireplaces? Interior design starts with the design of the building.

Folks should be able to change the colors of their walls, too. Some furniture should be able to be recolored by the end-user as well. For example, wooden tables or the woodenparts to upholstered furniture. However, to recolor cloth or leather, the itemshould have to be takento a professional, who after adding more fabric/leather, can change the color for them.

As much as I'd hate to have 40 different colors of leather couches on my vendor, I just don't think end-users should be able to color all their furniture. I'd like smarter vendors. Put up a few couches and let the buyer select the color upon purchase. We're supposed to be high-tech, right? And I'd not want to be a master merchant to be able to use a smarter vending machine, though that would be a huge plus to be one. There's too much of that sort of thing now, can't pitch a pup-tent unless I'm a scout. I can see not being able to make one, but why can't I use one? How many illegal syringe usershave medical training? So why can't I use an 'A' stim without being a medic? Sorry, an off-topic grief of mine.

I wonder how many items would be savedfrom the database if we could have vending machines that actually produced items upon request. All we'd need to put in is a manufacturing schematic and the materials. I know we couldn't do away with inventory vendors altogether (I for one wouldn't sell heavy harvesters this way. gack. ) but for most everything else, this would work. I'm not sure I really like this idea, but it's an idea.

Lighting is a big issue of couse, but how about some that hang from the ceiling or walls? Chandeliers? Wall sconces? The majority of the lighting in my home is from the ceiling. And I can turn it on or off, depending upon my mood. Our lights, all of them, should also be able to be turned on and off.

Different colored candles (that work) and small flower vases that hold a variety of different colored flowers. Rugs (room, area, small throw), pictures, mosaics, wall paper, room dividers?

And make more of the schematics like the new statues and gardens. I'm so thankful that we didn't get 6 new statue schematics and 6 new garden ones. I'd like a 'couch' schematic, and then different options to choose. Different options might need different materials, i.e., wood is needed if legs are going to be added, or maybesome colors are only available with certain types of leather/wood/metal. But we'd get some real experimentation and uniqueness going with furnishings then.

More seating on couches. What's the point of having these huge couches when only one person can sit on them. Throw pillows?

Moving things up and twisting them, yes yes. Putting desk lamps on desks...err...what desks? Can we have desks please?

Chests/armoires should actually hold things...of course.

Make some items able to hold things that anyone can take things from. For instance...one of the most fun things to do is have a party with friends. Wouldn't it be nice to have trays or platesof food and drink on tables that they help themselves from? I know...I'm dreaming.

There's enough possibilities in furnishings (just look around your house) to fill an entire profession.
