yes, i agree that /up /down is not really an architect problem... but i feel that we should take it on and take responsability for it.
this is one of things things that is really needed in the game
With the addition of a /move up command we should be able to rotate things along the X axis (have it bend down) and the Y axis (like crossing spears)
If/when they add coloring to furniture it should be the same way as vehicles are getting. I would personally find it an immense pain to buy 3 purple large couches from a vendor then get the other couple from a master arch only to find out that their shades are off by just a little bit. A sort of kit to do this would be preferable for all persons involved.
Rugs and art, rugs and art. Do you have any idea how many rooms could be completed with just a few couches, a table, and a rug? But without that option you have to spend a few more item slots to fill the space up. These already exist in the game so just make them craftable. Same goes for paintings. With the exception of the grunda all you really would want to hang on a wall (shelves don't really count to me) are guns and armor. Well why not allow people to add a little pa'nache? The Bothan overlooking Bestine, the Agrilat fountain, a Dantooine landscape all exist in various places throughout the galaxy so make them craftable and they will sell like hotcakes.
Let furniture be placeable outside. An option would be to make them as "decorations" and only a mayor can drop them within a city (allowing for some interesting meeting areas) to increase the attractiveness of player cities as well as allow balconies to be useful. Otherwise have them count against the house (the decor limit is way too low for cities anyway) but be in a "glass box" that prevents them from being seen on the street but loads them when you enter the balcony. Basically it will make the roof another home for the house. You walk onto it and need to load the items.
Fix the interios of Corellian homes so they are somewhat interesting. Noobians have palaces, Tat's have staircases galore as well as a window meanwhile we Corellians get a bunch of separate rooms with no real purpose nor a way to decorate them nicely. It is just ludicrous, especially since they are the exact same as "generic" homes.
Animate fish when placed inside a home or allow BE's to create fish so they have the animations to make fishtanks a bit nicer
Lighting
Storage inside of furniture, have it be the same as a pack just with the furniture.
Make it so that we can move things incrimentaly. /moveforward .3 instead of just 1 to let things go a bit easier when you have to line things up perfectly but they are just off that little bit.
Make large homes 450 items. It will actually help the database since it may cause some crafters to swap over. This way you are storing the same number of items on the database sans 2 actual homes giving it a bit of relief. The only real reason for the cap the way it is is to prevent large homes from popping up everywhere it seems, however urban sprawl isn't really that attractive of an alternative.
Well that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Good to see a correspondent here, and good luck surviving the job.![]()
I agree with everything above, and have one simple addition
Open up more of the furniture to be craftable. There are some great pieces that are decorating NPC locations, would love to see us get them. How about the couches that are in most starports. A little more variety in addition to color additions.
Jatora of Gorath
#2) Color Palette for furniture.
#3) Lighting (lamps, make them work)
#4) Corellian housing su...err...very lacking.
#5) More furniture.
Here is an idea for a specific type of furniture item that a guildmate of mine came up with:
A wall sign item. This would be used as a sign next to your vendor instead of having use the backpacks like we usually do. Just a simple square sign loking thing with alien text which would have the ability to set the name.
Not sure if this has been suggested before but its worth bringing up in case it hasnt.

Furniture placement just like harvester placement - except give us finer control. I mean, overhead view, move the mouse around til it is where we want it, then press mouse button keeping the elevation as is. Reuse some of that code.
Good stuff above especially Rotor.
I want cool new items, too. Fishtanks, paintings, give us a few new things to play with.
Also, has anyone on the Dev team looked back at Bajeezus' ideas about the crafting stations? Where it looks like we are actually doing things? Not so much the mo-cap aspect of what he was saying, but as long as we're talking about changes, what can be done to give the crafting process some kind of visual aspect, rather than just a guy doing fidgit movements as though crafting was just being afk?
Could an image of the thing being worked on show in front of the PC? That would certainly help when we're trying to make what some guy wants, instead of having to describe it. It uses existing artwork, so it doesn't seem impossible to me, but I'm not sure how bad the implenetation would be. Have the PC who is crafting sit or kneel, then have a miniature of the artwork which he sees in his kit show in front of him (maybe allow him to turn it off, maybe not - if you want privacy work in private).
Anyway, Baj always really liked the idea, and so dideveryone who read it that I can recall.
This category was the most popular in the top 5 voting thread.
The top 2 items were:
1st place:Add an /levitate command to move furniture or other items in houses up or down. (18 votes)
2nd place:We want new types of furniture and different colors. (17.5 votes)
C - We would like new color pallettes for houses. 4 votes

I agree with the above posted and would summarize my top 5 as follows:
1. Up / down movement of items in houses.
2.Interior lights that actually light.
3. Colorable furniture.
4. Additional interior items (rugs, decorations etc) and the ability to make the items that we see around the galaxy like the alternate style plants and such.
5. A difference between Corellian and Generic houses.
