yes but it dosen't take a master to make a medium house, if I remeber correct this is a level 1 skill, yet I see a more standardized price range for these and it is at a reasonable price range for both buyer and seller

In the past small houses and medium houses ran for roughly 3 cpu. Not a lot but not pathetically low.

ONe thing has recently ruined the prices for small houses. When they raised the bazaar limit to 6k it was just enough to make some people sell the small houses there. If the bazaar limit were 9k I think we'd see small houses being sold for 9k. If the bazaar limit were still 3k then I doubt we'd see many houses there.

The thing is a 5cpu is not unreasonable for an indistructable item (as long you keep maintnece in it) alot of people only ever buy 1 house and a few harvesters. Why should we undercut outselves just becuase the masses are getting spoiled?

I like to think of the bazaar as a "wholesale paradise"

Yes, 5 cpu is perfectly reasonable. I'm not saying it isn't. Hope you didn't get the imperssion I was.

But I don't think a comparsion to 80% composite armoris good basis since that really is apples and oranges.

My only hope is to raise enough awareness to the point where our profession can be reasonably profitable. I ask that each of you get ahold of the architects on your server and try to set a standard, as I am doing on mine. I posted a call for architects on my server to drop mea line and so far (out of game) I have gotten several responces, even one re-responce and it was very positive.

All I ask is a little foward and positive thinking. We have afun ( and easy) class hear, lets not run ourselves out of buisness

Second, haven't we already hashed this outbefore ? Does it really need to be brought up again ?

I think it says somewhere in the forum charter that we are required to debate pricing at least 2 times a month.

I sell mine for 12k, enough to make a small profit. The large profit comes from selling deluxe furniture and harvesters. People like to see some cheaper things and a great variety in the products. Then they buy the really expensivee things, too.

I give no percentage for large orders or newbies, but if people bring their resources with them i may trade them in (I wish the resource sellers would sell Ore, always steel ... structural modules need so many ore, and, who thought anything else, I harvest only High Quality Ore, would love to buy crap Ore for these things)

People joining our City/Guild get their small houeses for free. And guess what, that does not break my purse ...

We have hashed and rehashed this discussion for the last year. I see no reason to change our current pricing practices. Those Architects that sell at a loss will eventually find a need to raise their prices or move on to something else. I sell at just over break-even pricing -- 3.5cr/unit, with adjustments in price to reflect resource scarcity, my generosity and schematic rarity.

My customers buy from me because I make high quality items and sell them at reasonable prices. Do I charge 5cr/unit on occasion? You bet, but more often than not I sell at 3.5cr/unit. I am already wealthy. I support a city with my millions and I support novice crafters of all professions with resources, credits, knoweldge and aprrenticship opportunities. I have an established client list which has been built over the last year. I see no reason to change my business model. I dont envy the local chef with his 100 million bank account. I dont know what to do with the millions I already have let alone 100 million. He worked hard to achieve that amount, and as a goal that is laudable, but I have other goals such as the building of solid relationships with my customers and those people that choose to play in and around Aurora.

A good example of how I support my clients occurred last night. A former customer who has spent over a million credits with me needed Automated Flora Farms to harvest the Wild Lokian Wheat that just spawned. He didnt have the cash for them, but I chose to pull my entire inentory off the vendor and lend them to him for the duration of the spawn. Afterwhich, he will return the harvestors to me and will likely buy several of them anyways. I will make a sale, he will get his wheat and we will both be happy. I choose to support my customer's needs, not mine.

Cheers!

My biggest problem with the prices is that if i sell my ore as ress, i get 4- 6 cpu!

why shall i do the work to build a house, factory... for 3 cpu then?

Thats my problem, not the prices at all...
