Did a couple of factory runs yesterday.
Fusions was 14Ber/138141 Hoppersize.
Heavy Minerals was 13Ber/119767 Hoppersize.
I had no problems at all. Tho the materials I have are ranging from 950-980.
Maxed out on Structure Experimentation and Assembly.

I'm having no problem whatsoever making BER-13 harvesters.
1. I'm using lube oil
2. There are several steels that I use. The current one has DR 952, HR 993, SR 983, UT 945, MA 376
3. I can't remember the stats on my current ore, but its of similar quality
4. I've got +11 experimentation from skill tapes
5. I live in a research city.
6. I'm using top-quality tools and stations
No problem reaching BER-13 - probably about 80%.

well you wouldnt have a problem reaching it with a +11 tape....

I made a new schematic for a BER13 / 120K hopper chem last night on my first try. I used a +97% turbo fludic drilling pump unit, lube oil, steel with HR/SR/UT of 977/975/982, and ore with 975/1000/941. I have one of those crafter's aprons. I went to a nearby city with the research specialization. I used a structure crafting station in a droid, and a 14.94 structure tool. It started at about BER11 / 110K. I put 7 points into it (I think) in one gulp and got a "great" message. I was at 77% final assembly and BER13. I then put the remaining 3 points in one gulp into storage and got it up to 120K.

nm...
you people with your skill tapes and what not are not helping...

I believe that the +5 I get with that apron doesn't help me unless I get another +5 from someplace else, because experiment *points* are handed out for every 10 experiment skill mods.
The key points to my post were: +97% TFDPU and +77% final assembly. Those gave me a BER13.

You mention that your harvesting units are "ber6". Do you remember the percentage that you reached on them? I never pay any attention to the ber rating on the mining component - I go for the highest possible percentage - at least 92. It *does* make a difference.

SORRY...i am not asking HOW to get a BER 13....i guess you just kind of skimmed the thread.
What i am saying is i am using the same HHMs and resources i have for months..they are alltop quality.....I have always gotten BER 13s for these Floras everytime i have made them...i do not expect to get less than a 13 on anything i make unless i get a good during experimentation..
I was having to create another schematic because i ran out of the gen turbines the one i have been using called for, which was a 13 BER flora. All i changed where the turbines and i was actually using BETTER chem and ore than the last batch but the metal and HHMs are the exact same.
I maxed out the Effiency line at 92-93%. my experince has been that that should result in a 13 BER harvestor...but even with an amazing/great success all it would yeild is a 12 BER Flora...I have never used all 10 points in the effieceny line and not had a 13 be the outcome
I am just wondering if the experimentation has kicked because this is exactly the type of thing people have reported from TC from other professions...and i found it coincidental that I was getting these 12s on the same day they began patching publish 7
if it is not a bug and the new experimentation, then all of us are going to have to have skill tapes and do our experimenting in cities.

Well, this CANNOT be the new experimentation. The new experimentation will not affect you getting a BER 13 if you are getting 92%. It will simply cap the percentage each success goes up depending on the quality of the resources used. In other words, if you are using
500 UT, HR, SR steel on one
You would presently be able to cap the 55% (or whatever the low amonut is) on a couple of bars of great success and go on to experiment on hopper size having filled up the extraction line to max.
The way the system is changingit would take all 10 of your experimentation charges to reach that 55%, leaving no more to go after extraction.
Most likely, if you are completely sure of the same materials thing, it is some kind of bug.

Ok, some things to check:
- *exact* same resources that you've used in the past?
- *exact* same tools and crafting stations?
- have you been DBed and had your crafting tool damaged?
I don't believe it's the new experimentation for a number of reasons.
1. Typically they dribble out the client side stuff and then flip a big switch on patch day for the server-side stuff. They have started downloading the client-side stuff but they clearly haven't turned it on yet.
2. The differences are dramatic enough that we would have all noticed it.

Sorry for the off topic. My anger has subsided. But I think my post answered the original poster's concern.
