Based on what justification?
Flame and one star away.
Am I the only one around here that doesn't want to be a total crafting char? Who would like to be able to master a combat profession as well? I mastered merchant, I did my time.
You guys seem to love being master merchant. I think it's just fine for it to be a tourist profession. I shouldn't have to have a second account just because some guy who is enamored with Master Merchant feels betrayed. I can think of plenty of cooler things to do to improve merchant that don't involve screwing everyone else.
How about a new player city structure: Mall, placable only by master merchants, where everyone who is inside pays a comission to the master merchant for eash sale?
This is just a way for devs to make everyone have multiple accounts.
Defiantly,
No Furia, we just play the game by the profs offered. However I applaud your suggestions to make the situation better.
I DO agree that a large part of this is designed to get people to buy multiple characters. I have 4 characters with merchant for this very purpose. I stopped doing vendors for people other than ONE friend due to the overhead involved.
This merchant model will never work until consignment sales are implemented, IMO. People just do not either trust each other enough or want to deal with wholesale/retail differences.

P.S. Furia is cute when she's mad, trust me! ![]()
Master Arch/Master Smug, 4/0/0/0 Brawler, 0/2/0/0 Marksman, 4/0/4/2 Artisan, 0/0/0/1 merchant. I had been dropping the one box in merchant to rotate between Nov armorsmith/weaponsmith for making AUKs/WUKs. Still, with only 3 vendors, I have yet to drop merchant completely.
as a master architect, artison, politician and spare points in merchant skill for venders and etc. it will not effect me at all. i have enjoyed the merchent skill from the begining. and enjoyed the discount for harvetors maintence! i also have to aggree with the merchents complaints on this deal. i didnt know about it til i read about it on their forum and i was shocked that someone could use a skill without the skill!! maybe if 1000000000000000000000000000000000000 people complain enough it will make them change other things. but then again we have been askin for coloring furniture forever now too. and no news on it yet. also wondering if we ever get our candles to decay!! we have a problem with that too.. will people keep buying them? i have heard both yes and no. but i like making furniture and buildings so im not goin anywhere with my skills that is why i have a 2nd account for fighting
Gpod
its simply a real bug fix finally and i dont care, cause i got my skills for what i use ![]()
all who dont did actually an exploit.
D) No effect.
I am a 3001 merchant/Master Architect/Master Rifleman
I am proof you can be a hybrid.

*raises hand*
Guild m'ud of all of the above...I got enough Merchant to get a load of vendors and advertisement but was sick of the lack of combat skills I had so rushed into surrendering it without thinking. Itll affect me a bit but reckon I could cope with only 1 vendor, depends when the change is gonna be made.
Anyone got any ideas of timeframe?..cheers.![]()

Ya thats about what I figured. Horrible logic you're using to try and justify what is exploit, pure and simple.
"I mastered merchant, I did my time."
Hows it make sense to keep a benefit for a profession you dropped? By this logic I should be able to master then drop CM but keep the ability to use mind poison. In fact we could extend the argument to the point that we should be able to have ALL the skills for any profession that we ever learned. How much sense does that make? Absolutely none.
"I shouldn't have to have a second account just because some guy who is enamored with Master Merchant feels betrayed."
You don't need a second account to get Business III for 9 skill points and throw up a bulk vendor. Wanting other people not to get our professions skills for FREE is reason for the merchants to feel cheated.
How would we like it if people could drop Architect but still make BER13 heavies? That would make us a little upset don't ya think?
"This is just a way for devs to make everyone have multiple accounts."
No.Its fixing an exploit.

Another idea for you, stay as a master combat professions and master crafter and sell your goods wholesale to a merchant who can then resell them. It is quite feasable to just be a manufacturer without being a retailer.
Oh and for the poll - d
If the merchant profession gets the tools to do reselling well I'm all for this. I don't see any easy way for a merchant to resell things right now. It either takes a huge amount of trust or a huge bank account to prepurchase items right now.
Since I'm not an arch anymore(was for the first 7months) I won't vote. Considering we don't even know the extent of the changes I don't know if I could come to a decision anyway. If I have to go to 0004 Merchant just to have enough room on my vendors I doubt I'll stay a crafter(at least selling to the public). I just don't have the skill points and no amount of credits is worth only being able to craft in this game to me. Maybe I'll try for a fs slot on that char and just use the 2nd char as a merchant. ![]()
