As some of you may be aware, the devs are planning soon on rolling out a fix for the issue of players dropping vendors in their houses/malls/etc and then dropping the Novice Merchant skills/Management skills required for to create those vendors.
This has been identified as a bug by the Merchants profession ever since the servers went live, and look like having their wish granted by having this bug removed.
The upshot of it is that if you run vendors and don't have the skills in place to run them, you will effectively lose control of those vendors until such time as you pick up the necessary skills again.
I won't state my opinion of this fix as I don't want to start any arguments, flame wars, etc, but I am curious as what other Architects are planning on doing.
Accordingly, do you as a crafter (either in your capacity as an Architect/Artisan, etc) plan on doing.....
(a) Dropping other skills so that you can pick up Novice Merchant and the necessary vendor management skills again?
(b) Emptying your vendors and on-selling your stock to a local merchant?
(c) Have an alt train up as a Merchant and let the alt handle your sales?
(d) You are already a Novice Merchant and have no concerns about the change?
(e) Conduct a fire-sale and then give up crafting and move either out of the game or out of the crafting professions?
(f) another course of action (of so please explain).

I avoid taking advantage of game bugs / design flaws as much as possible, so I am a 3/0/4/4 merchant now and will retain that in the future, so no impact to me.
(Now if they start limiting the number of things on a vendor, THEN I'll be impacted!
)

I'm going with "(d) You are already a Novice Merchant and have no concerns about the change?".
I'm currently 3/4/3/2 or there abouts in Merchant, and I'm considering going all the way to Master. I think that the ability to manage vendors after dropping the skills is a bug, and I am not going to take advantage of a bug like that.

A friend of mine plays on Bria and I play on Sunrunner. We already discussed this, my lot mule on Bria will become a Merchant and his lot mule on Sunrunner will also become a Merchant. Problem solved.
(c) Have an alt train up as a Merchant and let the alt handle your sales?

As one of the people who has fought for this implementation on the merchant forums, I'll be cheering for Merchants and laughing at those who dropped it for a good 10 minutes or so.
Then I'll get back to making walls.

Flame and one star away.
Am I the only one around here that doesn't want to be a total crafting char? Who would like to be able to master a combat profession as well? I mastered merchant, I did my time.
You guys seem to love being master merchant. I think it's just fine for it to be a tourist profession. I shouldn't have to have a second account just because some guy who is enamored with Master Merchant feels betrayed. I can think of plenty of cooler things to do to improve merchant that don't involve screwing everyone else.
How about a new player city structure: Mall, placable only by master merchants, where everyone who is inside pays a comission to the master merchant for eash sale?
This is just a way for devs to make everyone have multiple accounts.
Defiantly,

(f) I don't use vendors. As a Interior Designer only architect I get mails orders from my friends and place them 'in situ'.

Another idea for you, stay as a master combat professions and master crafter and sell your goods wholesale to a merchant who can then resell them. It is quite feasable to just be a manufacturer without being a retailer.
Oh and for the poll - d
