It seemed the best way to advance in all the crafting professions. I had little/no interest in the combat aspects of SWG, and as a n00b I couldn't stomach the 100k+ pricetags of most Heavy Harvesters, so I decided to make my own. Next thing I know, I'm selling small houses faster than I can make them (hand assembly). Then all those peeps wanted furniture
I was a Master in no time, and have since found that I love it. It's been a great boost to developing in the other profs as well, providing me with both decent cash-flow and quality equipment/resources. I don't expect I'll ever drop it unless they nerf it significantly.

I decorated my first home so well, a lot of people in my guild wanted me to decorate theirs. I liked it so much I dropped combat and became an architect.

I wanted a profession that the only people who ever gave any thanks are guildies and city residence. That And I really hate making profit, the thought of spending 10-15cpu on a resource and turning it into an item that sells for 80cpu appals me. That's also why I picked up shipwright, I like classes that are either forgotten or crapped on by the devs.
That and I got tired of buying harvesters and houses for storage.... that was before I learner the wonder of storage vendors.

The main reason I started a second character, and went architect, was that our town had an achitect who gouged us. He was charging 40-50cpu for funiture. Lighting was priced around 12k per lamp. A bed was something silly like 50k. He was even charging something totally silly like 100k for bombed-failure BER10 heavy harvestors. I never started architect for the credits (although they certainly flowed in). It was all about giving people what they want, and making happy customers.

I wanted to have a crafting character. I was originally going to be a smuggler, but my guild was lacking an architect. So here I am now.

Was wanting a purely crafting alt and my guild lost their architects a few months back and never got replacements. So decided when doing the alt to go architect to fill the void.

Well I started it purely just to build my guild town and decorate the place also was planning on making a quick 20m (lol!
Not) but i have decided to keep it as i enjoy the profession and always have.
Its nice and rewarding in some ways knowing that something you built will actually stay in the game until one day the game is no more or the item was destroyed...

I got in to it because I got sick of running around killing things. Now i just mastered Swordsman but will drop it to master Armorsmith ans get some Merchant to go along with them.

Hmm, you're not stinkingly rich from being an architect?
