This is what happens when people make BAD decisions and then use THOSE BAD DECISIONS to define PLAYABILITY.

The real cost for me is way under 3 cpu, but the amounts are ridiculous. On top of that, the fact that someone in my guild AFK dancing makes more FS XP than me on a DAILY basis is just unacceptable. Dvnce, yet again, this shows that crafters are considered bottom of the barrel by devs, IMO. Grr.

Last time I looked I only got 10 lot spaces. If I mined with 10 lots instead of 98 lots it'd take 9.8 times as long, or 176.4 days per branch.

Um I thought you had until the end of the current village cycle to unlock the branch you are working on. That's what 3 weeks? 21 days?

176.4 != 21 days. Maybe I'm missing something here, I'm not glowie yet but that seems to me itsimpossible for an architect to unlock unless he starts farming stuff just for jedi process now. So much for actually being an architect to make stuff. I'm already exp capped on my structure exp so I can't stock up more exp now for later. If I start farming resources now using my6 lots available, 10 if I take down my factory and my house I figure I will have the resources in what...a year or so. That doesn't mention the 3 weeks for each villiage cycle.

Like I said maybe I'm missing something but the way I'm seeing it currently if you want to be an architect your not going to have a jedi.

I was going to make one of these threads when I read about the conversion rates and then figured out the ridiculously huge amount of grinding involved.

I'm not dying to get a Jedi, in fact - up until I received a "visit" I was indifferent to them and couldn't care less about the village - but the game does get boring, and this was some new content that I would miss otherwise - so I gave it a shot. I knew the hologrind wasn't for the faint hearted, and that the point of these quests was to make it harder - but this is near impossible. Definitely impossible going by the figures more recently posted.

They pushed the combat balance back for this?

Good post WarInc - and in answer to your question at the end - no it's not fair.

I had hopes that I could make my way up the skill trees over a couple months by just play the profession. It seems that they have put the exp trade in so high to keep people from grinding this in a couple days, and now they have locked out those who wouldlike to just gain some extra skills to fill out their crafting templates.

I think making 1000 heavy harvesters by hand, per branch, is a bit excessive.

the solution i am hearing on other forums is to grind swoops instead. you should have enough sp for that i think. i hear the conversion is 8-1 so its much better

combat is so much easier of a grind plus i can make money and get loot in the process. i have 5 toons and dont have 1 past glowing but i know with my swordsman i can get me 900k weapon exp cap in a buff session doing rancor missions which is also 90k combat exp. also dont forget how much of a pain ore is as it is. i know many archies that rely on sellers to keep their business going and not they will be affected by those who will grind gungan heads and buy all the ore they find

forget the idea of swoops.

i thought same but it seems they made a hard nerf on swoop exp.

normally craft ext is 2x resource usage, but a swoop takes 8k resources and u get about 1500exp only for it. so they did it well thought grr

and then i see a fighter rip in max exp 900k weapon + 90k combat and get = about 60k FS exp for it in about 2 hrs max ARG!

thats balance? no, crafters are kicked in the butt with this :/

you also have to take into consideration a pure crafter can't even do all the required badges to become FS so i know i dont have to worry about exp probs

Finally got to the village last night.

Our trade in sucks purple monkey balls. I traded all my crafting and structures xp and wasnt enough to unlock the structures tree.

By comparison, I traded all my rifles and combat xp and unlock the combat FS tree and half way up the first set of blocks there.

I craft my harvesters by hand except the medium minerals, so hopefully I wont have to wait forever and a day.

However, we are really getting screwed here.

Swoops would take about twice the resources but are slightly fewer combines.

Gungan head: 5000 xp / 3000 resources = 0.833 xp / res * 1 fs / 35 xp = .0238 fs / res

Swoop: 1600 xp / 8000 resources = 0.2 xp /res * 1 fs / 8 xp = 0.025 fs / res

or another way to put it..

For 1.225 M FS crafting you need

Artisan = 9.8M XP = 6125 swoops = 49M metal

Architect = 42.875M XP =8575 statues = 25.7M resources

Other alternatives from artisan..

Large glasses = 1.225M * 8 = 9.8M / 200 = 49000 glasses = 4.9M gems

Windmills = 9.8M / 425 = 23058 windmills = 1M steel, 922k ore, 3.3M metal, 230k aluminum, 460k non-ferrous

So I think windmills are the best shot we've got but it is about 40 hours of grinding for one tree.

I've got Architect and Tailor, and I agree the numbers for Architect blow...

I had to do a small run of housing for my guild, and figured that I can get about 4 times the xp that I can get as Tailor doing cartridge belts for roughly the same amount of time...

So I'd say that 20:1 would be a lot fairer...especially when you consider that the real valve on how fast you can grind out the XP is NOT the number of combines...it's actually the amount of resources required...

I mean how many of us have 2 odd million resources plus of polymer and steel combined to make the necessary cartridge belts for ONE branch let alone what you'd need as an Architect floating around...

It took me a couple days, but I did go from you don't sense anything different about yourself to Inner glow. I dropped some merchant I didn't need to pick up marksman and pistols I, andit was the first time in the 9 month history of my crafter alt that I wore a full set of composite (made by yours truely ).

Thebiggest disappointment was getting to the village and trading in all my crafting exp, then not even to being able to buy the novice box. On the other hand.. my combat character traded in weapon/combat exp for 162k FS combat exp. Now I'malmost done with thelast box in the accuracy branch there, but still working on the novice box with my crafter after capping structure crafting twice, and also getting in some goodarmorsmith explol.
