Yes, master artisan and human. I'll post all materials used for components in just a sec. I alredy did M.S. run with the energy distributor and GP models, so can't tell you numbers there...

Yes, I suspect that my control units were my big let down..but...can't get them higher with what I've got...It's my polymer that's bringing me down.

I agree I was very happy to move my ss 3% from 81-84 with some nicer inert that just came in.

Having said that the inert is still killing me, still not cracked 900 with it. If something 900+ spawns you can bet there will be a HNG on a 90%+ spot with my name on it.

OK, I'm having some of the same problems as everyone else except I'm comming up much lower on the FR rating that I think I should.

I Got a Ton of Roga copper 994 Con
My chem is in the 990+ OQ range
My steel is the carbofuwian (sp?) which just left (~986 OQ, ~700 con)
Ore is in the 990 OQ range..
etc..

My biggest hang up at this point is the darn inert gas (only have 902 OQ atm)

Now all my componets are 98 % effiency except Micro sensor suite which is at 86% (thanks to that darn 902 OQ gas being the best)

My current max for final combine is 37.4

Now the only thing is that I'm not using the Droid storage compartment but I have tried that before and it doesn't seem to affect the FR. Am I missing something or does the Droid storage compartment now add to the FR? How the heck are you guys getting 40+ rating?


Oh, and I think the FR does matter, it's very rare that I get anything less than a Great Success when experimenting.

Use the droid storage compartments. Despite other posts saying things to the contrary, they DO affect the final functionality rating.

I went from 37 stations to 42 stations by simply using 99% effectiveness Droid storage compartments, made from 994 OQ steel.

So the OVERALL QUALITY of the material is what I want to concentrate on when crafting?

For the control unit, Electronics GP Module, and Energy distributer..yes...

The Micro sensor suite is a whole other ball game....it's 66% OQ + 33% Conductivity (or is it the other way around?..I'm at work so check your schematic for info)...so you may need to find a completely different set of resources (as far as copper, steel..etc) goes to get better results on it.

For example lets say you have copper you are using in your control unit that is 990 OQ but 200 con.. now this is great for the control unit but crap for the micro sensor suite..

For the micro sensor suite you want something with very high stats in both OQ and Con.

Then for the station combine all you want is VERY VERY HIGH Con %.

You know what's hilarious? I am still using my old -21% station I made as a noob at the beginning. I have not failed a major assembly on it in 2 months (at least one a day). The +'s are totally worthless for a structure one.

I don't think they affect crits at all. The only thing they do is give a greater chance at getting more great successes while experimenting. Yes, that's pretty worthless currently for arch's but for others it's priceless. For example using my weapons station which is only around 35 FR (an old one) I rarely get anything less than a great success. This really helps when I am making control units and other artisian stuff. For other classes this is priceless because the greater the effect of your limited experiment points, the better the weapon/stim/food etc..

Base Functionality Rating = ((Conductivity of Metal used in Final Combine/1000)*30) -15

Functionality Rating Modifier from each Component/Subcomponent = ((Experimental Effectiveness%/100)*10) -5

Note that Control unit is used once in the Final Assembly and once within the Micro Sensor Suite so it counts twice.

Example using my stats:

Base FR = ((998/1000)*30) - 15 = +14.94

FR Modifier for Droid SC = ((99.9/100)*10) - 5 = +4.99

FR Modifier for Control Unit = ((98/100)*10) -5 = +4.8

FR Modifier for Control Unit = ((98/100)*10) -5 = +4.8

FR Modifier for Energy Distributor = ((98/100)*10) -5 = +4.8

FR Modifier for Electronic GP = ((99/100)*10) -5 = +4.9

FR Modifier for Micro Sensor Suite= ((86/100)*10) -5 = +3.6

Final Station FR = 14.94 + 4.99 + 4.8 + 4.8 + 4.8 + 4.9 + 3.6 = 42.83

I got an actual value of +43.14 which is off by 0.31 or 0.7% rounding error due to Experimental Effectiveness only being shown to two digits, ie 99% rather than 99.9%.

Anway, my post earlier got cut off...but energy distributer is 98%, control unit 96 (need better than this..this is where the polymer would come into play and the steel)..

Ok, I gave it my best shot... Here's the details..

All subcomponents except the Micro Sensor was at 98%
Micro Sensor was at 88%

End result: a brand new 42.944656 Structure/Furniture station.

Man, I really need some new copper... This 916 OQ copper is killing me.
