I was actually just sitting here, thinking i wanted some new structures and decided to look in the Architect forum first, and oh my!

Tournament Arena
Lots of people suggested this i see, so here is how I would like it:

Maybe three types (8x8m, 16x16m, and 16x16m with seating). Personally i don't care about the shape but i would like the following functionality:
- Entry List: Who can enter the arena itself, just like in a house. Public/Private should of course also be available. If public is selected, a maximum amount of competitors could be defined.
- Entry Fee: Two kinds, for arena, and for seating (if available).
- Restrictions: What things cause disqualification (or just fails to work) in the combat (buff / armor / special attacks / foods / pets / ranged weapons / melee weapons / death blow / whatever).
- Rules: 1 of 1, Best 2 out of 3, Best 3 out of 5, Best 4 out of 7, and so on.

Once the fight is started by a structure admin, no one can enter the arena, only exit. And once you exit, you cannot enter again. Once you are incapacitated, you are also thrown out of the arena, unless of course other that "1 of 1" is selected, in which case you get more chances to win. How exactly this last thing should work i'm not sure of, but something like it should be available.

Race Track
Works like the now live Agrilat Swamp Circuit, except that it is placed by players. The actual structure is nothing more than the starting line itself. Just like the Tournament Arena above, there should be Entry List, Entry Fee, Public/Private, and detailed Restrictions (on mounts and vehicles).

Once placed, a player can use the command /addcheckpoint <name> to define a checkpoint for the race track. Race will always end at the finish line after the last checkpoint.
When race is started by structure admin, a count down timer will appear on the contestants screen, and finally a GO! when the first checkpoint appear as a temporary waypoint.
The first one who finishes is declared a winner, possibly by a droid who is there, or by email to admins. Admins should also have the option to recieve all contestants times via email.

I'd like to see a house that is partially under ground with a center court yard open to the sky, like that which Uncle Owen owned in the first movie.

I think the best ideas I've heard out there are...

1- Warehouses with increased item storage

2- Customization INSIDE houses, ie rugs, wall, and floor colors, and maybe 2 or 3 new skins for the outside of homes. To try to have ever home look different inside will not work, every small town would lag like Cnet without the spam. And I think all internal customizations should be applicable to existing homes not part of crafting, maybe like a kit.

3- Mail Service- I hate having to stop what I'm doing to catch 4 shuttles to deliver an "urgent" item.

4- Harvester Platforms- this is the best ongoing sales idea I've heard in forever!

'cause I'm a bit dense I posted this into a thread all of it's own, doh... then some kind soul bumped this thread and it occured to me that this was the proper place, so here goes:

I have not seen this idea put forward before, so I apologise in advance if it has already been suggested.

I am not sure how well this idea would go down, but it occurs to me that crafters may benefit from a new factory model. What I am thinking of is something more along the lines of a production line based manufacturing plant.

I have not thought through all the possible requirements or difficulties, but here is the basic idea, maybe it can be fleshed out a bit with further suggestion.

Manufacturing Plant:

- has multiple ingredient hoppers each of which can take it's own schematic (perhaps the number of input hoppers is dependant upon number of components used when making the plant, or perhaps it should be an experiment line?), these would be used to make sub-components.

- Has a 'Final Combine' hopper, in which the components made earlier in the process are combined with the resources needed for the final combine to make the finished item.

- when making the plant it should be possible to experiment for efficiency, i.e. faster production.

- and for hopper size

Unresolved issues:

- The biggest question is: how to handle the experimentation for the final combine for those items (e.g. Harvesters) where this is crucial ? Should the plant be switched on the sub components sufficient for 1 final combine be run and then experimentation carried out in the final combine hopper? - Any suggestions?

- Should you be able to remove subcomponents during the process, or only after the full run has finished (I guess the former, which would require you to switch off first)

- How many lots would it take? Should this depend upon how many hoppers?

- What is the limitation for run time, I would suggest that as enough of the sub components for a final combine drop into the final combine ingredient hopper then the final combine takes place.

As you can see the idea would be to have a one step production line going from raw resources through to final product rather than producing each sub component individually through a factory run and then gathering these all together to put through a factory for the final combine. A massive time saver for crafters, especially Architects.

Please add your thoughts and suggestions if you think this would be a good structure

Very interesting thread here, I have a few ideas to further some of the ideas already presented:

1. Corelian houses really need help... Black and tall is the way to go. However more are needed in general, especially remote/organic/primitave and underground/elevated dwellings. It is unlikley to see full modular building customization, butI would be the bee's knees and the cat's a**. However, it should be completley possible to add the functionality of interior designer.

2. Appartments in major and player cities (of a certain size).

3. Corals and Zoos are a great idea.

4. Water platforms and harvesters is a good idea.

5. Bridges + Roads + Pavement are excellent ideas.

6. Walls + Towers + other gcw items are excellent ideas.

7. With JTL coming up, post offices may not be the best idea. I would rather see players (especially smugglers) fill these roles. And we all know where to go to get a pilot! (The entertainers will be happy).

8. The warehouse and starship hangar are both excellent ideas that could be combined perfectly!

Make an extreemly large structure (capable of storing a full starship) with enormous storage capacity (500-1000), and make it a requirement for building starships (but use all 10 lots). Use of various droids could accelerate the process even.

Reposted from own thread:

Where is all the streets? The jutting, steaming pipes? The City Frill?!

I would like to see some roads/sidewalks/cobbles in the player cities. They could be created like a "paintbrush" that allows a City Planner to paint ground textures acrossed municipal areas, flattening or smoothingthe area and making it more city-like.

How about some cheap little frill items, like jutting pipes, individual plants and trees, market stalls, etc?

A small sporting arena.

I'm thinking of acircular oroval arena build into the ground. Could be usedfor pet or player dueling events as well as an open air theatre for plays and musical performances. Maybe attach large displays which can be configured to display custom messages like scores or announcements. Along with it could come a small booth for a chef to sell some snacks and beverages and maybe some sub-level catacombs for the actors / duelists to prepare for the show, from which they can enter the arena gloriously through a separateentrance, accompanied by fireworks and lighting effects.

Excellent Idea, but why not have an building that was built into the ground as well?

Someone mentioned cities looking 'lived in' - how about new city decorations like settler camp or jawa camp - creates a couple of small tents, a hut or two, and some NPCs ... much prefer these to fountains all the time.

A friend suggested this to me and I think it's a great idea but I'm not sure if it's possible under the current resources system.

A Refinement Centre for improving resource quality. It would allow you to experiment up different stats or create hybrids of two resources.

Outhouses! We need outhouses

They would be a perfect money hole

Anyhow...i have read the suggestions in this thread over and over and over and still wish that the devs would do any one of them, just to show they care.

Cheers!

I've been doing alot of decorating lately so I'm going to create a list of things I'd like to see for decor:

Enviornmental Rugs - I invision this rug type to be something you use when trying to make a garden inside of your house. Rugs in general are needed. These rugs however shouldn't look like "rugs" instead they should have grass/pebbles/sand etc textures. This will allow us to create different areas of our houses such as "gardens" or "meditation areas". These rugs should vary in size based on architect specifications so that you can mix and match some.

More plant types - Again with the garden theme it's very difficult to create a nice garden with a ton of orange flowers and just a few different tree types. I'd like to see more of the plant types that I've seen in the bestine capitol building and elsewhere. I'd also like to see some ground cover plants that can cover up the pots on the potted plant types.

Wall Fountians - Fountians were created for outside purposes, however I can't tell you the number of times I've seen them placed inside even when they don't fit. Regular fountians are justtoo big for most homesand alot of people enjoy the sound of water in their homes. If the developers could create basically a picture frame with a catching base and a couple particle ejection points for water it would make a very nice addition to most houses.

Paintings - So far we've had the Mon Cal Eye, and Twilk (SP?). As a wookiee I'd really like to see some wookiee paintings or images of kyshakk, but I think all races need to have their own set of paintings that would fit their style.

Fake Windows - The large Tattoine house has a window which you can sort of see through. It would be awsome if we could place these fake windowslike paintings in our house. Even if the windows can't see outside it'll still be a great addition.

Armor Stands - This would function similar to a back pack, You'd place your armor on the "armor stand" and it would be displayed in your home but only take up the 1 house slot rather than 1 slot for each peice of armor.

Safe - A safe is a specific type of storage device. You can store credits/deeds in your safe. The safe should be able to hold a large ammount of deeds in the safe and no matter how many deeds are in the safe the safe only takes up 1 housing slot.

Trophies - Sure you could make any object and name it "Award for blah blah" but it would mean alot more IMHO if there was an award line in architect. Trophies for should exist for every profession in the game and be unique enough to identify the trophy itself. IE a guy in a martial arts stance for a TKA trophy, or a guy aiming a rifle in a prone position for rifleman. These items can be given out as rewards in player events.

That's all I've got for now....
