Thread: A chuckle for the smuggler
"just as long as you aren't doing it for the money."
"you can't guarantee what slice we would get or how good it can possible be"
This reminds me of the post in the dancer forums about not getting xp for /dance. just..wow
Noob: Hey, you're a smuggler
Me: yes, yes I am.
Noob: Han Solo is better than you
Me: If so, why has he been stuck in the Lok Cantina for 2 years?
Noob: He helped beat the Empire
Me: Um, looks like to me the Empire is still around
Noob: No it's not, haven't you seen the movies?
Me: (/tell noob wake up and jump in game for a sec)
Noob: You are a Han Solo wannabe
Me: No, there's something about having a galaxy full of Bounty Hunters after me that just doesn't strike me as FUN.
Noob: I'm gonna put a bounty on you
Me: *silence* *laugh to self*
Noob: What's the matter? Afraid ofgetting beat by a bounty hunter?
Me: No....just wondered how you expected to put a bounty on me
Noob (as MBH walks past): Excuse me, Bounty Hunter, can you kill this smuggler? I have 10k credits for his death
MBH: Ok (/target noob; /duel)
Noob: Whats this duel for?
Me: Just type /accept, you have to do it to issue the bounty
MBH: ROFL
Noob: ?
Noob: Ok, why is the Bounty Hunter red?
MBH: /advcrit, /deathblow.
MBH: Hey Ford, about that drink I owe ya..........
Ahh, some good times.

Ill-Informed: Hey, are you a smuggler?
Me: And proud of it...
Ill-Informed: Can you slice a weapon for me? Full to damage.
Me: Um... I really don't know. I'm running out of ICB's.
Ill-Informed: The price is 3 million right?
Me: Where are you again?

I'm just saying, I've found weapons on vendors & the bazaar that cost 200K & are already sliced & yes I get plenty of Finely Crafted Toolkits from my BH marks. The SAP's are harder to get but not impossible, I cleared out Erran Sif on Talus & got 5 before. No I am not a Smuggler, but my guild Smuggler does charge a little bit less than you do, a little less is all I think that you need to charge also, especially comsidering that you can't guarantee what slice we would get or how good it can possible be. That makes sense to you I am pretty sure.
200K is not hard to make in a few hours of Picket missions from the MO, so I guess you are fair enough, just as long as you aren't doing it for the money.
Well, not exactly Smuggler related, but...
I was in Kashyyyk Starport and a 'Luke Skywalker looking like' guy, dressed with an orange flight suit tells me:
Guy: Can you go to imperial places?
Me: ...I suppose to. Why?
Guy: Follow me.
*I follow him into that sort of bunkerat Kachirho Starport. Then we go down to the invisible barrier one or two level under the surface.*
Guy: I can´t go down.
Me: Neither me.
Guy: But you are imperial.
Me: Yes, I am, but I'm not really sure ifthis isquest related or whatever, but I think itmust be only for Imperials.
Guy: I am imperial.
*I target him, a BLUE dot on my radar. I think all imp, including the ones on leave should be purple on my radar (please correct me if I'm wrong)*
Me: No, you aren't imperial. You're rebel scum.
Guy: I'm not rebel scum! I'll kill you. Duel me.
*I look at him, CL9. I'm CL 80*
Me: Are you sure?
Guy: I've beaten CL80s before.
Me: I don't use to duel but as you wish. 1 incap only, no DB. *I /duel him*
Guy: *Running to starport* You have better equipment than the other CL80s I've beaten.
Me: Didn't you want to duel?
*guygoes offline*
Me: *I think: "Chicken"*

I really wish there were more of these kinds of people around. I just had someone complain about my 40k weapon slice price. Oh COME ON! Am I supposed to start taking my ship apart so I can get 100 units of aluminum and steel? I gave up on AB slices long ago even though I have enough padding for the next two weeks, The only ones that can afford slices are the BH that sell skill tapes off.

So the other night I had a group going up there. It was a pretty good group, level wise, but there were a couple of noobs there just to liven things up. It was the rescue mission. We got down to the lower level where you need to get the prisoner's room code. I told everyone to stay put. I'm not a bossy guy, but we had limited time, and no one was doing anything right. They were attacking the mobs I mezzed, wandering off and aggroing Super Battle Droids, and then asking, "Are we there yet? I have to go to dinner" It was annoying to say the least. So I tell them to stay put, that I would run into the next room, get the codes, feign death to shrug off aggro and run back. (There are a few mobs and I think a SBD in there. We had no time to fight them.) So I run in, grab the code, run back up the hallway a bit and feign death before I get too much damage.
Then I see two of my companions, who had followed me into the room, go down in a flurry of blaster shots.
Dead Groupie 1 : "Hey Jander. What happened?"
Me (to myself) : /sigh... Natural selection, Kid.
If you ask me, the entire game would be better if more people just listened to their smugglers.
And to tell you the truth, we need a forum guide to teach people how to NOT BREAK MEZZES!

Ah, see, the problem in my experience, is that people don't realize they are using area attacks that also hit the mezzed mob. Specifically, there is a knockdown, and I think it's a Teras Kasi move, though maybe it's a Jedi attack, I'm not sure, but it effects every mob in a five meter radius or so. VERY annoying when it knocks down all the mobs I just mezzed. Some people just don't know their own profession very well, I guess.
Maybe that's what we need. A "how to use your own @*#$ing profession in a group when you have a crowd controller" guide.
Anyone else got some funny stuff? This stuff is great. I CRAVE MORE!
This is my policy- i have amassed a fortune from my older days as an armorsmith, i rarely slice for cash. As such- i have included this macro warning before i slice.
Attention. I have lots of money and a bad temper. If you play your cards right, you might end up with a gun strong enough to punch a hole in a starship, and armor that can survive a turbolaser. If you offer me junk as a payment, speak in all caps, or make obviously false claims of your dev status or free-slicing buddies, you will have 10 seconds to tell me you are joking before i delete your item and ignore you. Thank you.
