Thread: A chuckle for the smuggler

I have been reading this thread off and on for a while so I figured I would post a story here as well.
I just landed in cnet starport and start walking throught the starport to buy a shuttle ticket when I get a duel request, I turn around and see a guy in plain clothes, no guns no armor and I figured what the hell.
/accept duel
/advanced crit
/underhand
/headshot
/advanced crit
incap
at this point I am just about to end duel when I see a tell from the guy saying "**edit** I was just trying to see if you had my mission"
/deathblow
/hi5
Some people deservepermadeath.
Here's an oldy, but a goody, from the glory days of the original Bestine vs. Anchorhead raids.
Was walking through Bestine as an overt. I honestly wasn't aware of the raids going back and forth there almost every hour. Was just on my way up to the Imperial base on the hill outside of the city when I see a SWARM of reds, it was an Imperial player assault.
Needless to say, I feigned death, then just watched as overt rebels came out to fight, but the imperial might just swept through them like so much garbage. They had one guy who stayed back of the main assault, running around DBing everyone (no player kill rating then).
So the main force was gone, and this lone imp was was around my area DBing rebels. So I stood up from FD, panic shot, last ditch, last ditch, last ditch, last ditch, panic shot, last ditch, repeat, until he is incap. I DB him, then run like hell.
For those that remember, back then panic shot meant a player couldn't do anything for a good 30 seconds ![]()

THIS is what ought to happen EVERY time a Jedi does that... a challenge should not be permitted as a means to avoid combat.
All they need to do is remove the ability of /endduel to cancel a challenge and Jedi would stop abusing it. ![]()

A couple of days ago, I'm hanging out at the Mining Outpost, spamming my slicing spiel, basically saying that for 200k I'll do a 100% slice on a weapon, including components, also spamming that I'm willing to buy components. Guy sends me a tell, insisting that "a friend" will do a 100% slice with all components for 20k. I tell him to have his friend slice his weapon then, and he goes away. A couple of hours later, the same guy comes back through the mining outpost, and sends me a tell asking me if I'm still buying components. He tells me that he's got a couple of micro platings and some trod intraframes. I tell him that I'll give him 20k apiece for them, explaining that those particuar componets show up all the time now on the bazaar for 20k or less and that I don't use them all that much. Guy sends me back a tell.."man, your just trying to cheat me. A friend told me that these were worth 100k apiece."
/ignore
And people wonder why I charge so much to slice.
So i am chilling in theed cantina, and that part of theed is Aro's hood (me) and everyone knows it
Anyhow so i am sitting there, and this big-wig guy is chatting up with the dancers. Then it goes
"Bigwig has challenged you to a duel"
Now A. He wasnt jedi. B We werent opposing faction. C. He didnt say a thing and neither did i.
So i do /eyebrow and gog "Huh", 2 mins later no cancelation and no-one says a thing. Now i was about to log out for lunch, so i type in my chatbox /acceptduel; /underhandshot; /endduel;
I slam enter and then Shift-esq and disconnect...

From the server that brought you the Smuggler and Pilot correspondant:

I'm just saying, I've found weapons on vendors & the bazaar that cost 200K & are already sliced & yes I get plenty of Finely Crafted Toolkits from my BH marks. The SAP's are harder to get but not impossible, I cleared out Erran Sif on Talus & got 5 before. No I am not a Smuggler, but my guild Smuggler does charge a little bit less than you do, a little less is all I think that you need to charge also, especially comsidering that you can't guarantee what slice we would get or how good it can possible be. That makes sense to you I am pretty sure.
200K is not hard to make in a few hours of Picket missions from the MO, so I guess you are fair enough, just as long as you aren't doing it for the money.
