Thread: A chuckle for the smuggler
I had some punk that wanted a 75% AB slice on his BH helm ealier.I did some thinking and quoted him a price of 250k, me having to supply the parts. I only have 4 shock absorbant paddings left from my converts, and I'm not about to get ripped off by some jerk kid.
I told him to have a look at the vendor search and see what the parts cost, but he just complained about how I was trying to rip him off. The shock absorbant paddings on my server go for 100k minimum all by themselves, so I don't think I'm being too pricy. You still have to figure in my base rate (50k) and price for the reactive micro plating (50-100k) so I'm thinking it's a very fair price. I walked over to the bazaar, did a quick vendor search. There was less than a single page of those things for sale in the whole galaxy, minimum 100k each, some as high as 10 mill. I laugh.
He starts callingme all kinds of names. In the meantime, he's spamming /trying to sell BH armor schematics for 700k each. Then he tries telling me he has a smuggler friend that would do it for 100 credits. Of course, this smuggler friend isn't online right now... they never are.

After that, evidently he was still blabbing because there were a couple other guys there telling him to shut up because he was just going on ignore.

I'm between templates right now, so I'm only mid-level 60s, but I still have master smuggler.
One of my guild's padawans is really annoying, and tends to get under my skin. While out hunting on Dantooine, between lairs, he duels me. I ask him why he wants to duel me, and he complains it's because everyone else kills him. (/sigh) So, naturally, I hit /accept, /concussionshot, /endduel.
He was pretty pissed at me.
It's my SOP for dealing with Jedi challengers.
LOL...I had a momentary lapse when I posted that...my thought being, "Nobody from my guild should be on the Smuggler forums."
Naturally forgetting that the Corr is a member of my guild.

Okay, so the other day, my brother and I were doing the Katarn Armor quests. We had just killed the dealer, so we were waiting to take the shuttle out of Deeja Peek. This dude comes up, wearing RIS armor, and challenges me and my brother to a duel(guessing he was just spitting out duel requests to everybody around there).
Anyway, so my brother takes off, doesn't have the time or want to duel him right now, but I stay behind. I had just noticed that this was a person I had just sliced for yesterday, his helm. I sent him a tell, said: "Hey bro, how's it going?".His reply was: "duel me".
I thought, Huh, not even a "hello"?, I guess he doesn't recognize me(I was wearing my Teras Kasi Monk title and robes). And so I thought, sure, why not.
I accept duel, and the fight begins. It lasted for about five minutes, but I eventually lost(missed a heal, hate it when that happens
). I was typing in /end, when the dude comes over and deathblows me. I thought, Huh?!?, what's up with that?!Now, if he had specified that he wanted deathblow, then I would've declined, but I guess it's my fault for not asking him. Anyway, I sent him a tell saying: "Hey bro, what'd you do that for? His reply was: "with this newist patch i cant kill jedi anymore theyr to hard." He then shuttled out.
I wasn't too angry, till I got that tell. I thought, Huh?! What am I, ego padding?!? I sent a few more tells, asking him, again, why he killed me, which he replied to none.
I was typing pretty fast, so my brother came over to my computer to see what I was doing. I was about to just let it go, when he looked at the computer, then looked at me, and said: "You know, I still have that duel request he sent to me."
Click, click, an idea started to form. I put up my friends list, put in his name in, and typed /findfriend *soandso*. Bam! Being that I had sliced for him yesterday, he had me in his friends list.
He was in Kadaraa, so my brother shuttles there real quick. /target *soandso*, bam, right around the corner. He heads out of the starport, equips rifle, target moving. Targets marks' vehicle, fires, bam! A BARC! Knocks the dude down and ends duel. My brother calmy exits the sceen.
Me, with my darn goodguy nature, I sent him the money to get a repair kit. Along with the following tell: "Now, I'm not a badguy, here's the money to go and get yourself a repair kit for the bike. Just be nicer in the future, and be careful who you mess with, some might have connections." His reply was:"Ooh."

The next one happened the next day.
I was standing next to my bank, MO Dant, when this guy(brightboy, lets call him) sends me a tell.
BB:"you splice weapons."
Checked my title, yup, Master Smuggler.
Me:"Hello there, sure I can slice for you. How many weapons, and what type of slices?"
BB:"splice weapon here"
*BB sends trade request*
I open the trade window, with no intention of slicing, or even trading, until he knows my prices.
*Trade window opens, BB puts a Post-CU Reinforced Stormtrooper Chestplate in there*
Now, I don't know if this is for everybody, but the only Post-CU RSCs I've seen have no defensive stats, only a couple of mods.
Me: "Hey bro, I can't slice this, sorry. It has no defensive stats."
BB: "you slice"
Me: "I'm afraid I can't bro, it has no defensive stats, only mods. I can't slice a mod."
BB: "you splice now"
Me(being patient with the dude, obviosly new) "I guess I could give it a try, but I don't think it will work."
*Trades item, I try to slice it, no option*
Me: "Sorry bro, no option to slice. I can't do it, here."
*Double clicks on BB*
*Five minutes pass, with several tells from me ensuing*
Me: "Bro you there?"
BB: "youslice now it now"
Me: "Here you go, bro, trade."
*BB eventually(finally)makes the trade*
*BB wanders off, never heard from him again*

On a completely unrelated note:
Yesterday, whileregrinding my alt, I met a cl 36 char in novice outfit spamming yells if there was "a way to make the old man come sooner". Alright, another clueless glowy is born, I am used to it. What really upsets me is that they apparently no longer care to master even a single advanced profession. I checked his bio: master marksman, master brawler. Nothing else. No wonder SoE caters foremost to theJedi.

For some odd reason I fond this the funniest thing in this whole mess... "beeing wifed" lol...
There is some rumor that he will come sooner if you travel a lot around by shuttle. Other people claim this is a myth. I really don´t care, but this little episode showed me that some people play this game solely to play a Jedi. Aw well, sorry for the hijack, somebody post something funny please...
