Thread: How much should I pay for a slicing contract?
but being a former smuggler i found it much nicer when the weaponsmith payed me on how much money he would make off the guns.
for example, i could slice this de-10 for 15% speed. it wouldnt make him a lot of money, but when i get a 35% damage slice...... BAM he knows hes in the money, so hes always willing to give "a little more"
but for regular weapons on large contract i would say "depending on server inflation" around 3 usualy up to 5k

pay them WELL. Give them free krayt pistols. Cherish your smuggler(s) because slicing is the most boring and mundane activity you can think of and a bulk slicer with any staying power is practically non-existant.
i was one untill i woke up one night screaming : For fu-ks sake its random lol

Did you master your crafting profession without grinding? in that case: /salute

It is exactly this that keeps me from entering into this kind of business. 5k a slice isn't worth the time it takes to make the slices.
In the same amount of time I could have sliced a terminal run 2 jant missions and repeated. 20 slices for 100k is garbage, especially when you know how much value even a mediocre slice adds to your weapon.
These kind of prices are what made me start my own sliced weapon vendors. I buy from you all by the crate, slice and price my way.
Good luck keeping a smuggler interested in this work when you are paying him 100k or less for 10 minutes of his or her time.
Did somebody up there say they were paying 1k per slice? My god, you can't get me on a shuttle for less than 8k. What people are willing to pay for things is so damn out of wack in this game.
I ask the smuggler what they charge. Usually they say between 3.5k - 6k. But most of them I end up paying 10k each slice. The only way I pay their lower price is if they are rude.

Work something out with a local smuggler. This is the best way. Most likely with a little searching you can find a smuggler who is willing to slice for you for a reasonable fee or for some type of fringe benefit.
Sure slicing isnt fun but dont let some smuggler charge you a rediculous price esspecially if it is in bulk. If you want a max ammount I would say.. 5k max per slice and you should be able to find someone who charges less. If you are going to price the weapons at huge values like 100k+ for a high damage slice then you might want to give the smuggler more.
Slicing isnt really that costly to do for the smuggler so you are basically paying for his time.

Sure you can make 60-90k in about 15 minutes as a smuggler but so can anyone else. 5k is a resonable price in my opinion and there are plenty of smugglers who I know who charge 100cr per % or 3k per slice. I slice for free for friends because to me playing this game with friends and getting to know others is more important.
But hey charge whatever you want. Just know that if you try to charge to much that there is another smuggler that will charge less to get bussiness.
