Thread: Weaponsmith resources
"So you just go to the screen right before you put in the materials, then it says something like 50% Overall quality and 50% conductivity... so u just need a resourse that matches that class and has high OQ and Conducitivity?"
Yep, exactly
different componets want different stats, and even those may not match what the weapon itself will want. If you're a smith, check your schematics before you mine. If you're not a smith, ask the smith you will be working with. Personally, I usually don't have customers bring their own resources except for kryatt tissue. It gets hard to explain to someone who doesn't have crafting experience what to look for as the list is usually pretty long. It is also hard to explain that the resources were lost in a crit fail or because the craft session just decided to end on it's own.
A lotuse Conductivity and Overall Quality. Of the remaining ones, vast majority use Conductivity and Shock Resistance.
I mine for a living in SWG. On the Kauri server, I've mainly been supplying Master Docs and Master CM's in their manufacturing needs. Extremely high-end resources in large quantities, IOW. I won't set on a resource unless it scores >900 on the SWGCraft resource calculator (excepting special orders).
I was recently contacted by a Weaponsmith who gave me a list of resources with their important stats. I finally found a duralloy steel that seemed "worthy" of harvesting. Here are the stats:
Igalc Duralloy Steel
CR: 710, CD: 648. DR: 980, HR: 991, MA: 359, OQ: 362, SR: 983, UT: 940
The weaponsmith I am currently mining this for doesn't speak much English, so I can't really get much information from him about the resource, which schematic it is used for, or which stats are assigned which weights. If it's 66/33 UT/SR, this would score 954, using the resource calculator.
I have only set sufficient harvesting capability on this resource to supply the small special order I currently have for it. What I am wondering: Is this good enough to stockpile?
Any help appreciated ![]()
Terrible answer from a list I have:
Duralloy Steel(SR, CO+SR, HR+SR), Vibro Axe, Advanced Blaster Rifle Barrel, Advanced Projectile Pistol Barrel
In my language, this means that one schematic uses SR, another one uses CO+SR, and yet another uses HR+SR. So depending on the schematic:
SR= 983 (Vibro Axe)
CO+SR = ~492 (Advanced Blaster Rifle Barrel)
HR+SR = 987 (Advanced Projectile Pistol Barrel)
As you can see, this is particularly good for the Vibro Axe (easy to shop for because it is based on just one stat) and the Advanced Projectile Pistol Barrel (harder to shop for because it is based on two stats). I would stockpile this and market it as particularly good for these two schematics in case weaponsmiths don't notice.
Talaczar, I greatly appreciate that answer. Perfect in all regards ![]()
Good enough. I'll fill the two 20K contracts for it, and then keep the heavies on it in order to stockpile it as both generic steel and generic metal for player city structures (architects only care about UT for this resource need).
This is the second resource on this weaponsmith's list that they sent me, which has turned out to have the requested stats in error. I'm going to have to try and speak to him about this.
Thanks again. Now all I need is to find a really knowledgeable weaponsmith on Kori, and start working with them. Up until now, I've been specializing in resources for medical professionals (Master CM's/Master Docs).
