UPDATE
A more recent, complete and accurate version of these tables is available at this thread. Please update your links to go there instead of here. Thanks!

Right, been doing some reading around this, and must point you to this post on the SWGCraft.com forums: Lunariel's Guide to Resource Caps.

This is simply the final word on the matter - Lunariel has actually figured out the general principle behind stat capping, worked out the formulae for stat caps, spotted all the exceptions and figured out the caps on the exceptions, too! He's a god, it's obvious.

In brief, each of the subtypes of a resource are ranked in a similar way to the Petrochem Fuels (class 1 to class 8 etc), and each rank has increasingly high range of possible scores on most stats (OQ is an exception to this - OQ always ranges from 1 to 1000).

Still confused?? Yeah, I was too, until I actually looked at this in tabular format (btw, space-aligned tables like this are best viewed in Mozilla/Netscape etc - what are you still doing using Internet Explorer?? Oh, your boss too, huh? ). There's loads I could do here, but I'm just going to take some of Lunariel's data and summarise... here are the caps on CD, HR, SR and UT (the latter two are identical for metals) for all the known metal subtypes:

This is without a doubt the single, most useful postI have ever come across on these forums! I have been Master WS for about a month now and was worried about my resources as sone of the stuff I have is far from "good" in the eyes of a layperson. I have been searching for this info on gated resources for some time so I could compare with what I have. This thread has shown me that my resources are in fact very good (and they should be after the amount I have spent).

Excellent work in finding and sorting this information for us!

Thanks a ton!

I use fooman's tool, so it does the thinking for me (hehe, so I can actually, like, LIVE outside the game)

Instead of spending time running numbers, I'm PvPing with my guildmates and crafting in the downtimes.

Fooman's tool has improved my life, and I recommend that ALL WS pick it up, use it, and liberate themselves from the tedium of pouring over resource data, John Nash-style;wondering which Diatium Copper is better for ABPH's. Asevete seems like the better choice, but Iesewi is actually better despite the lower CD. It makes the head spin, and imiginary university roommates begin taunting you... It's just bad all around...

I could probably find more inconsistencies if i tried, but here you say the hard cap for plumbum iron cnd is 82, but on sunrunner 92 days ago 860 cnd plumbum spawned. Or am i missing the point??

Checked for Plumbum Iron on Sunrunner and see no listing for a Plumbum Iron with CD of 860, did a search across all servers and the highest CD has ever reached is 82

That 860 was extracted from swgcraft.com. If you notice that no other spawn of it exceeds 82, you can conclude that its capped at between 85 and 100. I think its odd that it would be 82. I'm sure the 860 was someone accidentally putting the oq in the wrong column. Especially since I have a char on sunrunner and can gaurantee you they never saw a spawn like that.

Not that I've been on Sunrunner at all, but browsing through the weaponsmith FAQ and other posts, the cap on Plumbum Iron seems to be familiar to most.

Of course, there are limits to the accuracy of the SWGCraft.com data as it's players that enter it... if you find this resource again, can you confirm whether it was verified by another player?

Also, if people find errors or inconsistencies in these figures, it would probably be best to find Lunariel's post on the SWGCraft.com forum (stickied there) and let him or her know. It could also be a typing error on my part of course!!!

We just raised the theoretical cap on sr and ut for thoranium on wanderhome from 658 to 660. I think we all pretty much knew this was the answer, but we have data to support it now.

In retrospect, I suspect someone mistyped the Conductivity into the Unit Toughness. Funny, it is verified in SWGCraft.

There was a Phrik Aluminum on Intrepid that spawned before the vehicle patch. It was called Afiahiam. It had an SR over 900. 904 or 908 actually, I cant remember right now. But I do have some in my inventory still. It sells for like 150cpu.
