Thread: Orske's Current Best Resources for Weaponsmiths
I have a tool I use for shipwrights, that I've recently made some weaponsmith data for. So check THIS LINK.
let me know if you have questions!
Link to shipwright forums and 'official' thread:
Orske's Current Best Resources
As I came up with the 'ordering' myself, and I'm not a weaponsmith, let me know if you think there are things that can be done better.
I also have some limited Artisan data there (as this post reflects a near-identical post in the artisan forum) so any of you who want to help, let me know!
EDIT: Removed broken links from data sets listed above, as they are now finished, and no longer need data. Just let me know if you see errors in calculations of the tool itself, or if I used the wrong stats on resources/schematics...etc. Thanks!

Good concept but I'd like to see one that searches all of the database history using the relative caps for each category.
The tool *does* use the relative caps (was a pain to get that to work correctly too, heh). If you notice that some stats list (say 500 CD on a steel) '500->600cd' --> that means that it 'converts' the CD to what SWG uses, since the gate of CD on steel is 650, it uses that as a base of calculations. If generic steel is required anyway. If a specific resource is required, it will compute the gates for that specific resource. JTL resources are a bit different, but they're taken into account (especially as this was first a shipwright tool). JTL resources that 'pass' the gate are basically calc'd at 100% anyway, so a 750CD crystallized bicorbantium is calc'd at 100% because it surpasses the 650 gate.
I've never had a request to search the history, so I'll have to look into that. I'm not certain if I can query that information for SWGCraft. The current resource list is a fairly easy grab for a script. I'll update what I find out, but it'll be a couple days probably.
Basically, the 'main' use for this tool is to grab all current resources in shift, and then tell you which one is best for certain parts of schematics. For instance, if I wanted to concentrate on Refire rate on my ship weapons, I would select that option from the menu, and the resource listed is the current best resource for that schematic. I thought of saving my own history, but getting that information from SWGCraft (if I can) would be nice.
Thanks for the feedback.

nice work - it'll be nice and handy when you have got all the schematics in there.

very similar to foomans tool or what ever it is called.. nice work
Thanks Atham

I guess I was thrown off by your scopes, which are using SR instead of OQ. For harving new stuff ya looks pretty slick but if it could compare to the history it would be even better.

Well, I was hoping for some help there, as I'm not a weaponsmith

Got a link? I'd like to check it out. (Or is it a file/executable?)

Sorry about any inconsisencies in the current listings, but I pulled that data from SWGcraft and expected there to be some errors, so I'm hoping for a bit of help from one of you guys here.

you can find fooman's tool at www.swgcraft.com on the weaponsmith forums there.
Thanks. Looks pretty well-developed, albeit not as easy to use as mine. Of course, that could be ego talking, heh.
Any takers on helping get me the experimental qualities/resources needed for all weaponsmith schematics? Once I have a file with all that info, it's pretty straight-forward for me to enter the data in. I just need the data (as SWGCraft's skilltree for weaponsmiths is not updated for post-CU experimental qualities anyway, and I'm not sure about the resources).
Check out the armorsmith section, a friendly armorsmith gave me a flat file with all the schematics/experimental qualities and I was able to fill it out in an hour or two
Otherwise, from Fooman's tool (thanks for the pointer on where it was, Maceey), I see there is a master list of schematics/etc....I'm going to try to parse out what I need from that, though it may take longer, there's quite a bit of extraneous data there. (And, I just noticed, a flat CSV is nasty with that much data, lotsa columns
I'd like you guys to check it out, and let me know what you think. Also let me know if you see any errors in resources needed, experimental qualites calculated, or anything you'd like changed.

i agree with the above poster, some sort of selectable boundary below which you dont even bother showing.
another nice feature would be to dump the history of swgcraft into your database and show each resources compared to the best ever spawn.
the functionality so far is just awesome, a little polishing on the layout and a couple usabilty enhancements and you have the gold standard. i love the simplicity, if you can retain that while adding these simple items youre set!
