On the 1st patch day for 11, I noticed a jump in failures (ie. less than great success). After seeing nothing here, I was beginning to think it was just a bad day. I haven't crafted since 11.0a though.
Could the change to complexity with experimentation be causing issues for those of us who experiment in small increments?

Im at 11 exp points.. assembly just 109 atm.
Since patch my crit fails on assembly have jumped astonishingly.
there is somewhat of a pattern, in that the first build of a gun will fail most often.. In other words, I can decide to make a DX2 schem and the first one will fail.. then I can build as many as I like and things are normal.
I hand build Laser rifles for the visible comps. Same thing.. first one will crit fail assembly, After that build 5 more all fine.
the other pattern is any loot comp. Tissue, fangs, feeds. Im afraid to use them. I'm seeing 1 in 4 builds with loot comps fail.
I use cake, not seeing a difference. New tools, etc.
I'mat a loss. I'm failing noob comps and powerups. very frustrating

dont think it means anythin, but since I got FS assembly when patch 10 ht live ive critical failed 4 times, 2 of them was yesterday just after the patch. Im guessing its just bad luck thou (guessing or hoping)

To me it seems to be a rather streaky random generator. If you've been grinding a lot lately it brings around the streaks more often. As for complexity, re-factor a village component a few times and watch the success rates nosedive as complexity goes up past 50

Aye.
I refactoreda coupleup til about 60-65 or so complexity.
*Zero* crit fail issues.
(Experimentation becoming a non-possibility is a *different* issue.

personally i think BF makes you crit fail more..... anyone else think this?

I frequently craft with 400+ BF.
So: no.

It was stated somewhere that batfat factored into crafting.....
As for the original question, I have never crit failed on assembly when using pyollian cake....that is just strange that you say you did.

Ive seen my experiment get screwed up a few times with 100bf. I was making all the components for a Display Tusken Rifle, PFM. PRB, Scope then had to harvest wood for the stock, got killed by a huurton and then had 2 good successess on the experiment rather than the ALL GREAT successess on the PFM, PRB and scope.
Also i screwed up some +15 cubes and +15 pastes with a good success when i had 112bf once. Other times I have always had greats
