Thread: Storm Trooper: There she is! Set for stun!

For lack of a better place for this, here this rests. An issue that has come to my mind as en "Eh, why the hell haven't they done this". A thing about weaponry:
Why the hell don't certain blasters have a stun setting? Really, I think for the sake of canoness plus practicallity, certain blaster rifles/ Carbines should have a button-press to access stun setting. This stun setting would deal stun damage. However, it would be of course slower firing and be less powerful than a blaster's normal setting.
Maybe you believe "No! They'll use it to exploit the stun weakness that armors have!" Perhaps. But if its slow and generally at a 65% (a % that perhaps can change due to some sort of crafting or slice orexperiment thing(not ancrafter of any kind, nor really ever was))of the original attack strength, does it matter? Not overly.
But it is needed to fit into the whole Starwars-ness of the game. Sure, I'm sure thatall Blaster pistols andsome Rifles/ Carbines wouldn't be able to use it, but hey, it'd be neat. Perhaps set its own key to access it, maybe radialmenu it, have a command bar command for it, maybe even make it a special attack, whatever. In any case, it should be added. Period. Thoughts, comments, posts to help get this heard?

now what I am really wondering about is the fact that most droids have 100% stun damage and low elctricty damage. Why on earth would the jawa rifle then be stun instead of electricty? It is made for attacking droid right?

Actually, the Title for this post is a direct quote from A New Hope. They used an E11 Carbine in a blaster setting, saw Leia, and one said "Set for Stun" then they fired Stun bolts.

And Planetstalker, there is a good point you have there. Jawa Ion Rifles should be changed to do Electricity damage.

You could just go buy a stun rifle/carbine/pistol and be done with it? I mean they aren't that hard to find.

Please enlighten me Trean, Where can I get a stun damaging carbine??? cause the only stun weapons I am able to make ranged weapon-wise are Jawa's, Tangles, and the GeoBlaster

Or, instead of making Jawa Ion Rifles do electrial damage instead of stun (and I'm thinking "outside the box" here, if you will), they could just reverse a droids stun/electrial resists...

Am I missing the point here or do Carbineers get 2 Stun Specials, is that the same or i'm I just not paying attention as per usual.

Lol that would give pikeman one serous nerf, and make riflemen wich are allready way to strong (imo) even better. No it must be jawa damage, changed to electrical.

There are specials that can put the enemy in a "stun" state. This status effect greatly reduces the target's damage output.
What is being discussed here is damage types, which is very different. Every weapon has a damage type which is involved in the calculation as to how much damage will be dealt to a target (based on the target's resistance to a given damage type).

Just buy a Stun weapon! Yeah, I'm sure Storm Troopers carried around two pairs of Guns all the time to. When that Stormie that I quoted saw Leia, he had to open his pack and get out his gun that shot Ion and fire.
