I think it's obvious this game steer FAR from the path of the films LONG ago.

In the movies STs on the Corvettecoulnd't hit the broadside of a barn, and were easily dropped in 1 shot.

I think the stun setting would be a good addition to the E11 series of weapons, and would greatly improvetheir appeal, as many people, myself included, have trouble selling them! Most people prefer a laser carbine/rifle over an E11. There's a balance issue here: in Marksman you get the laser rifle before the E11 rifle, but the E11 carbine before the laser carbine! In both cases the laser weapons tend to outperform the E11's. Why not switch the certifications for the two carbines and give E11's an alternate stun function? This would then solve the missing ability you described and also the lack of balance for E11's in game. A good point raised, Rawanuk!

Gracias. I have noticed that no one except for Imp PVPers (going for the whole Imp feel) using E11 weapons of any kind.

More than just changing the E-11 Carbine to Stun. The weapon system as a whole needs a re-vamp. Each Ranged profession should have a weapons that does each specific damage. Or maybe Weapon Smiths should have an option to make certain weapons any type. The E-11 Series is a good one for Carbines / Rifles. All weapons of this type should use the same componets. Feeder Mech or Power Handler, Blaster Barrel or Proj Barrel. I would suggues sticking with the feeder mech's so that you don't see a lot of crazy weapons out there like the Geo pistol that can do crazy damage. Many things in this game need to be changed and it is a work in progress. I'm sure that before we know it we will have a new re-vamp. Oh wait, Space Expansion is comming. No time for the old.

lol, yeah. But this would be an easy fix. Just give E11 Weapons the ability to by say, pressing something (Ctrl _) that the weapon changes firing mode.

Armorsmiths make segments right? I think it would be nice if we could "do the same".

Like make a "stun-blaster-engine" thingy!

Scenario:

Weaponsmith: What damage would you like with that Krayt CDEF Rifle? Its compatible with heat and stun.
Customer: Whats the difference?
Weaponsmith: Heat is high damage, and good speed! Stun is abit slower, lower on damage, BUT its got higher AP and unlike Heat, most armors have lower resists to Stun damage!
Customer: Does it have to be a CDEF?

Yes I agree I dont know squat about Star Wars Tech and weapons generaly!

(Apart from the fact that the guns in the first movies was regular guns with "add-ons"!)

This just came to mind while reading this! Good read all! Just wanted to take part in it!

IF you think about it though, stun was only used in the movies once, ONCE, i dont think that its really an issue if it was used once, and eope farted once in the movies (ep 1) i dont think ever creature should have a fart feature

I'm pretty sure we saw stun bolts fired in some other Stormies-with-bad-aim-firing-at-Rebs.

Personally, I'd like to see the stun weapons made so that the stun damage acts like it does in the films, where it renders the target unconcious without bodily harm.

Seriously, the Jawas used their guns to neutralize droids so they could capture them and sell them, not to pop tuskenss in the head with.

I know the Star Wars d20 has little to no relevance here but practically all the weapons, with the exception of slug thrower and disruptors have a "stun" setting.

Apart from that useless knowledge, I cant imagine how that would be duplicated into this skill-based rendition of the game aside from the earlier post having an option to have "stun" damage at a much-reduced, slower rate of fire.....

Maybe for the carbines they could have the "beanbag" guns that Johnny Knoxville let himself get shot with....

Knoxville : "OUCH!!!" *drops*
