Thread: The Han Solo/DL44 mystery
Actually to get decent stats you have to use that sissy XT version that sells really well on my vendors.
DL44-XT is probably the third best pistol there is, or damn near.
So why doesn't Han (or Luke) have a chrome plated, pearl handled DL44 in the movies? Do they want to take it easy on theStormies and Bounty Hunters? "Hey Chewy, I could have amuch better pistol but I decided to go easy on all those people trying to kill me because I'm sogreat! Heh - I even talked the kid into picking one up, what a goof!"
I quess the real mystery is why SOE feels it has to have a different "Star Wars" experience than that portrayed in the movies.

Why is the iconic DL44 such a hunk of junk in this game? I mean a well travelled smuggler like Han Solo picks it to be his personal sidearm - so is he the galaxy's biggest idiot (followed closely by Luke Skywalker who also uses one in "Empire Stikes Back")?
To get any desent damage out of one you have to use that sissy "chrome plated" version...something no real adventurer would go near.
Help me solve the mystery here. I just don't get it.
because devs have ruined the star wars experience in yet another way. Han Solo took the DL44 because it was the only pistol that had the power to pierce the storm trooper armour...however its clip only included 25 shots, while most pistols were weaker and had 100 shots. clip=battery or whatever you want to call it.

Here is what I think:
Han is a smugler, a dirty no good scoundrel. To get the drop one people he probably took a dl44 and tricked it out, just like you can customize ships in the game. My money is on the fact that Han wants to use suprise to his advantage, it might look like a cheesy dl44 but who knows what he did to it.

All righty then....
How is it that the very people how should be able to "trick out"weapons like this - i.e. Weaponsmiths (and to a limited extent Smugglers) - can't?
Yet another "D'oh!" by SOE.

its actually kinda simple. it was a movie. like most movies with people shooting they use any gun. i mean would you rather be shot with a 357 then a 45? odds are both kill ya heh.
DL44 is a good gun for the combat level. i mean han solo wasnt exactly Rambo in these films heh.
i looted a dl44 (black in color) called "the black falcon"....the stats suck but the description says it was created to resemble "a famous smugglers pistol" or some crap like that.
