I totally agree.. the inards (the laser crystals, firing mechanisms, power handler and the barrel) are most likey from a XT.. the exterior is from a DL44 to disguse the fact that it can pwn you.. lus it probably has a 35% damage slice on it as well.

Once I hit 306 DPS the DL44 XT sales really took off. I don't care if DPS doesn't mean squat, it sells weapons.

It's quite simple, SWG uses the classic "roleplay" concept of handling combat. This involves levels, damage and wounds. In real life (and i'm using the term veeeeery broadly here) stuff simply does not have hit points and damage points, and the films, generally like life, weapons fire produced deaths or wounds (mostly depending on how important you are in the script). As long as SWG keeps using classic roleplay rules, you are going to get weapons with restrictions on usage. Stuff like the DL-44 and even the E-11 carbine make an appearance early on to make people feel like thier part of the Star Wars universe early on. And respectively they have thier "elite" versions aswell. Another point to make is that the weapon is suited to the types of targets your currently supposed to be facing, lvl 7-10's. And a good DL-44 from a good weaponsmith is more than capable of handling those types of threats (I know mine is).

Break downs to the following 2 things.

1) Hans Solo was 1 hiting all the stormies in the movies so his DL44 did not suck.

2) He is master SMUGGLER hence he gets SLICE. and his slice in pre-nerf, pre-CU, pre-SOE so he is not limited to a crappy roll.

It is that simple. Really need to ask the question why do all the sabers in the game suck. Luke, Obi-wan, Anikan, Yoda, and even the other jedi were all one hitting the targets. Hell Obi-wan as a non-master jedi in EP1 was 1 hiting SBDs. huummm think about that.

Thats cause they obviously hack.

Solo prolly double sliced that DL44.

Han didn't use the XT because he couldn't afford it. 20k credits was way too much cash to fork out on a pistol. Besides storm troopers are only cl50 or so.
