Thread: My humorous customer story ;)
lol
too bad we can't all have other customers with common sense around when that happens.
I like it when they ask if i have 'good' weapons on myvendor.
ooops, sorry you caught me. I only put my rusty crap on there. Here's the good one for ya....
lol... I say the same thing. Anytime someone asks me if I make god weapons I say
"Nope, all my weapons are complete crap, you should shop somewhere else".
The other day some guys says "Cool, at least you are honest"
ahahahahah!

ok, this is coming from a novice weapon smith doing the good old holo grind and having had to deal with weapon smiths for quite a while while doing my pvp template here is why many people ask if "you make good weapons" or if you" have good weapons on your vendor"
Its because many of you weaponsmiths are scam artists selling things for huge price increases that are absolutely uncalled for...sure you may defend yourself by saying that you need the money to go buy the best resources, but that gets old pretty fast when I see Scatter Pistols frequently selling for 100-200K credits on numerous vendors....
Well i sell scatter pistols for 10k. If you are dumb enough to pay 100k for one, then you deserve to lose all your money. This is a player made economy, and a free market. If there is enough demand for scatter pistols to cost 100-200k, then so be it. If some one WILL PAY 100k for one, then **edit**, so be it too. I would love to et that kind of money, but I don't screw my customers. The most expensive single item i sell is 20k, and those are the real good t-21's.
But that doesnt mean we are scam artists. Buyer beware, and be smart and do some research. would you buy the first car you saw on the lot?
My prices are a little higher than Abel's but are on the lower tier of pricing on Ahazi for just about everything. Two nights in a row i've had someone come into my store and promptly start bitching at me about my prices of Scatter pistols (I charge 15K, this seems like a fair price to me, it's what I sell all the 'elite' class pistols at (LP/Scatter/DX2), I'm also using a very old/expensive doonium spawn in them).
Night #1, one of my other customers was there and gave him the way point for someone else's shop (on Tatooine)... the customer came back and bought mine later because that shop and three others he checked were selling them for more.
Last night someone who's got around 900K hangs around in my shop nagging me for about 35 minutes about it. This person is kvetching because he can get them for free from a guildie, but doesn't feel like bothering that guy so I should sell him one for 10K... despite the fact that most other WS on Ahazi are selling them for more than I do, and very few are selling it for less.
Eh.
Sometimes I don't get it. For me I try to price things reasonable in respect to what other people are charging, and my goal is generally to be an affordable shop that carries almost every weapon line and to sell top-quality weapons. I'm pretty sure I meet that goal. Now some smiths charge less than I do, but I only know one shop that does so routinely at the same quality, and it's not a case of us undercutting each other, it's just where our prices are.
Ah well.
It's sorta sad really but it explains why so many leave our profession.
BTW: To the holo-grinder who calls us all scammers? You know absolutely nothing about being a Master Weaponsmith and what it takes to make top quality weapons. It's not just about moving current harvesters around.
I'm starting to empathize with the rest of you.
I only hit master WS a few days ago and have been in the process of setting up shop and whatnot. Someone gave me some prescient advice a couple weeks ago and said to start expecting lots of random tells from people asking if I can make them so-and-so weapon. Ain't that the truth.
Yesterday I got the woefully uninformed "Do you make weapons?" question, despite the factI proudly wear my Master Weaponsmith title at all times now. I told him no, I make cupcakes, but they're really really good cupcakes. I wish I could change my title to Amizar the Master Cupcake Maker.
On a somewhat happier note though, one fellow I randomly ran into asked me if I could make him some DXR6 carbines. I'm presently in factory subcomponent mode so told him it would be a few days, and that I was short a couple resources, and that I could provide other shop locations if he was in a rush. For whatever reason, he was really gung ho that I be the one that do it, and he went so far as to search on the bazaar and go galaxy hopping to fetch the missing resources. God bless him. As soon as my factory run is over, I shall be making his carbines first thing. I don't mind doing custom orders this early in the game because I figure that's the best way to establish a customer base.
Oh dont get me wrong, there are some great customers.
I however have fallen into a preffered production scheme:
Selling most of my weapons wholesale, in bulk. I keep a strocked vendor.. but i make the most money selling to master merchants. I have a dealer on tat, and a deal on corellia, just south of coronet.
I recently sold the entire brawler tree of weapons, in 25-crates, for 1.45 million.
Now i'm working on the marksman tree. Runnign a batch of 1000 BPH's as we speak. I expect to make about 3 million for all the markaman weapons ![]()
