Thread: Frustrated and need advice concerning time spent vs market price...
Hiya, I need some advice. I just made novice weapon smith. I set out today to make a batch of 20 d-17 pistols. It took me around 5 or so hours to gather enough resources and then a few more to craft them and then another to make the power ups.
At this point I am extremly tired of it and just hopeingI can sell these for a good profit. So I headed off to the bazzar to check the prices. It turns out people are selling the same weapon for 500 credits. I am in shock and had to log out at this point and come here and talk with you guys. I dont know what to do at this point. I feel that the time invested to make these weapons is a considerable amount and then the price compared to the time investment is just insane. I trully do not understand how these crafters can sell there items they worked so hard to make at such a low price. It hurts not only them but the hole crafting community.
I feel like laying down my craft kit and just let someone elseinvest all there time into a crafting system that is so unrewarding. Am I the only one who feels like this? Please give me your thoughts on what I can do or even what we can do as a crafting community to change this.
Sincerely Tinkado Starstrider
I'm about 75% done with ENG IV, next is weaponsmithing. So my question is, why did it take you 5 hours to get enough resources? What resources are needed for a carbine for example?
Dr. Woo
the dl-18s i made where average 18-58 dmg 3.3 speed and 11/28/11 HAM cost... that is a lot better then the cdfs trust me.
now why would you say you are gona sell them for only 500 ?how long did it take you to make yours ? is your time worth more then 500 credits... you could run 2 missions to a city for 1500 in around 15 mins.
i just dont understand.
In response to the resource question ,and why it took so long. To make 20 dl-18s here is the amount of resources required.
1220 metal ,220 Chem , 60 Ore , 200 Gas ,60Gems
to make power ups for them including failuresit took maybe 200 metal and 100 chem
you can mine 4 times in 1 minute for an average of say 5 thats 20 resources a min not including failed mine attempts sitting ect ect ect.

CDEF with decent materials is 27-56 3.5 speed, 9/20/9 HAM, if you manage to find materials with 900+ conductivity and quality you can get 30-62 3.4 9/20/9, which beats the D18s because of the increased min damage and lower move costs.
ok i didnt realise that... i just assumed from the cdefs that i was looking at from the bazzar where the types and dmg that where common.
now to get back to the main focus of this. the time that is invested compared to what you are getting paid. will this be the same all the way up the weapon tree with people selling the top weapons for nothing and takeing forever to craft them. I was not in beta so I do not have this info and would like to have your opinion. If it is like this then it is pretty pointless to continue crafting. Maybe its just me I have no clue but dosent anyone value there time?
i cant afford to run harvesters because they cost too much. i cant sell anything because there are a million cdefs on the bazzar blocking the d-17 pistol i made.(i dont understand why they just didnt do sub cattegories for weapons ect.)
ok so i guessI must power level again up the 2 trees of weapon makeing to actually make a weapon that can be better then a cdef ,and then sell the weapon for nothing! it just dosent make sense why this system was set up like this. was this like this in beta and if so why didnt this get reported and changed?
what to do now......
Err.. 500? Sheesh, I sell my d18's for 50...
You're not crafting these for money.. yet.. you're crafting them for XP. Given time, your skill will increase and the quality of your weapons will as well. You'll eventually find your weapons in high demand because you can craft the best out there. Not many will make it to Master Weaponsmith. It's at that point you'll be reaping the rewards.
D18s sell for crap prices because they have the same damage, slightly better speed, and much higher special move costs than a good CDEF. The only people who will buy them are the ones who can't find a good CDEF or don't know that good CDEFs exist.
The bazaar now has a "next page" button so your stuff isn't completely visible, but buyers might have to sort through a couple pages of CDEFs to find them.

What? I'm sorry that is the dumbest thing I've read.
I sell mine consistantly for 1000, and I actually sold my first 10 for 2K each.
I have yet to powerlevel. I sell everything and I have a nice sum of cash in the bank.
Be creative and you sell your items.......better yet keep powergrinding, I love selling my mine for money. ![]()
