So yeah I was trying to sell some stuff on the Trade forums a bit ago and all people seem to know how to do anymore is /flame Weapinsmiths Auctions saying "how much we are trying to rip them off" etc Keep in Mind I am not some desperate n00b in dire need for credits selling my 350 mx dmg geo sonic blaster for 600k when I know it is actually worth 5 mill or more on my server.
So my question to all of you is how often do you get complaint about your weapon prices when you are selling weapons, or auctioning them on the trade forums? Because for me it is non-stop and I am to the point where I would like to encourage ALL of you my fellow weaponsmiths to increase your weaponry prices ten-fold for 1 month so people will stop ragging on us all the damned time about how much we charge for weapons. The simple fact of the matter is most of our weapons do not decay very fast and our regular customers typically come back to us to purchase a new weapon MAYBE once a month if we are lucky and they grind grind grind with it and it fell apart when it was repaired.

Well for some people, trolling is all they have. Tell them to bugger off... not much else you can do, except belittle them and crush their soul... but that's just me. Tell them to stop whining, because if someone bids on it, that means that it is worth it. This is a mmorpg, and the economy will be just like other mmorpg markets. To some people, some items are worth more than it is to some whiny jackass on the forum who only knows how to troll
So basically... ignore them, and move on with your business.

I find most of the moans come from people who have never played any sort of crafting profession in a serious way, rather than just grinding it. The fact is that WS depends more on looted components for the good stuff than any other profession. Chefs, Architects etchave no looted enhancements (okay AS do, but to a smaller extent) but all the higher end WS needs a looted component.
Factoring inthe cost of purchasing the components from loot hunters, the cost of the speed slices and bad damage slices and I find that most WS don't charge the prices they do because of greed but because of economic necessity. Okay, some WS sell high-end weapons unsliced but I find that combat players are prepared to pay a premium for weapons with a nice slice. These weapons may seem expensive but there are so many gambles a WS has to take along the way to get that final weapon that in most casesthe price isjustified.
Basically, if your stuff sells don't worry. If you're selling virtually nothing then you need to start thinking about your pricing.
<edit>... also I wish that some players would realise that on certain weapons, for non speed capped players you actually do more DPS with a speed slice than a damage slice (PH / T21 for instance).

I typically have no problem selling my items, in fact my rare items such as scythe blades are hard to keep in stock even at 1.5 mill per blade. Keep in mind my most basic scythe blade with +10 solidifying agent and +10 yellow cubes does 180 or more min dmg and 329 max dmg at 2.6 speed unsliced.
I have hundreds of customers, but some items have less demand because of it being a less popular profession or what not. For me msot of my credits come from specialty weapons like Tenloss DXR6's, DE-10's, Scythe Blades, and Executioner Hacks. As far as my regular items go I sell them at very low prices and I have many many repeat customers. But my question to all of you is this. What would you sell a Krayted Precision Tuned ( imperial looted scope ) Geonosian Sonic Blaster that does 166 min dmg and 324 max dmg that is sliced? does 4 mill seem too excessive?

I really don't get too many complaints, but I have had the same prices (for most things) for approx a year now. I have started lowering prices on certain items that seem to be moving slower than normal though. Overall I would say the WS buisness has slowed down a bit but still is a great money maker.

i stick by my ethos that everyone should be a crafter for a week...should be a game necessity

People, even some master Weaponsmiths, think that weapons are cheap to make...and in meterials alone some are, however, I've spent close 75-100 million over the course of almost 8monthson my profession and havn't made 1/5 of that money back.
WS is the crafting profession with the most risk, we deal with very expensive enhancements that we take several risks with. lets take a Krayt Scatter for example you have to make the ABPH and risk critical faliure on assembly and experimentation, then you have to use it in the actual crafting of theweapon and take that risk again, then the risk of how it gets sliced!
People simply do not know whats involved in being a "Master Weaponsmith" as apossed to being "Master of the Art of Weapon Crafting", the first one is a tag you grind out...the second one you earn by actualy learning and caring about the profession.

I checked your auction, looks like a blatant ripoff to me
Based on the speed it isn't a Krayt pistol, my guess would be a yellow cube for higher damage and low condition and maybe a high velocity pistol barrel.
geo pistols are pretty cheap to make now, even at the most expensive for me it was 2M for a schematicwhich would be 400k per gun and only 300k for a schematic now or 60k per gun, 500k for tissues then auction with minimum bid of 4M?

anyone who complains about my prices gets a polite telling to s-t-f-u and shop somewhere else if you dont like my prices.
im already the cheapest on the server so if they wanna goto one of the other ws's and more often than not pay double what i charge theyre welcome to doesnt bother me

ZING!
i would suggest some passive scouting of rivals prices and possibly a price check to auction thread when starting to sell weapons on the forum...some people live to find something to attack you on. dont give them ammunition.

I don't get too many complaints. My vendor stock is all priced reasonably (except for T21s, which I charge through the nose for because I hate making them). All my loot-crafted stuff I sell at auction, but it's a live, in-game event. Most of the starting prices are low ball numbers, very reasonable... because I know that inevitably it will go up. Occasionally I get outsmarted and someone gets a good deal, but them's the breaks. Anyways, what I like about selling stuff at auction is if something goes for an outrageous price, it's the bidders' fault, not mine.

There's a good idea. We could all go on strike for a week. Remove all weapons from vendors. Either that or like you said, stick another "0" on the end of every price.
