Thread: Republic Blasters
Okay , I'd like to know if the dev's or our pistoleer corespondent ( who's doing a stand up job , cheers ) ; would be able to please explain why the Republic Blaster pistol can not be used by any profession in the game atm and requires a certification to use . On Bria were blessed with many fine master weaponsmiths all whom are quite competant and highly capable of making semi decent DX2's an all , but every time theyhave crafted a republic blaster , the stat's , ham etc have always beenvastly supieror to the DX2 . I understand that the BH's are the only ones with scatter pistol cert an why not that's thier proffesion's main pistol , as with Commando's an thier main pistol the Launcher pistol . Both guns make sense to be proffesion specific on certifications. Yet with the Republic Blaster , it's a pistol it looks groovy, sounds elequantly when fired , an seems acid based on damage as is the DX2 . Sooooooo why can't a senior skilled Pisoleer be given the rewards for thier efforts and be granted the certification to use em ?
for pistol numbers , the more common ones I've encountered are roughly
FWG5 = 1.7 speed 45 - 175 damage , 18 - 21- 19 ham wound chance 15.56 ( non sliced )
Scout Blaster = 1.5 speed 65 - 132 damage 15 - 25 - 19 ham wound chance 13.21 ( non sliced )
SR combat = 3.5 speed 75 - 120 damage 29 - 42- 37 ham wound chance 17.84 ( non sliced )
DX2 = 2.6 speed 88 -143 damage 19 - 27 - 21 ham 24.77 wound chance ( non sliced )
Republic Blaster = 2.2 speed 55 - 165 damage 17 -25 -17 ham 26.98 wound chance ( non sliced )
Now as a pistoleer , I'm currently using the scout blaster for low health yard trash mobs an those with low resist to energy , the FWG5 for general purpose use , and the DX2 for low resist acid stuff , an have often times swap around the fwg5 an dx2 just for a change of pace when heat or acid is equally good against the same target . hehe quirky /shrug it's fun an that's the important part =). But seriously Please would we be able to have any chance of having the Republic Blaster cert added to pistoleer ?? It would be sensiable and seems to be a slightly more advanced overall pistol to the Dx2 . Where to add in the cert for it ? I'd say Master pistoleer at max , perhaps at expert or master marksmen a more viable option ? . A course if I've missed a threed that's disscused the Republic Blaster to death then I apologize in advance .

the republic an FWG5's Vast an police both have crafted those , the Scout I've seen neede , nedar, an Origins , an vast all craft them, DX2 was origins handywork. the SR combat seen sold on bazaar term on bestine hehe when the terms their weren't lagged right out .
I am on Bria too and I too have seen all of the weaponsmiths weapons and no they dont have pistols like the poster claims... I mean they are like fantasy weapons including the ham costs on like the dx2 heh. Anyway

First I'd like to apologize , the ham costs I posted were not accurate most of the guns ham costs were pretty close , the dx2 I was off on ham costs. The FWG is accuerate and was made by Vast , the Scout is accuerate an was made by Origins . The SR combat I went by what I'd seen on bazzar terms on tatt since most smithes I've dealt with still won't make em . an on the SR the delay was clser to 3.9 , 4.1 ish . on the DX2 the delay an damage are correct the ham is 27 health , 42 action , 33 mind on ham costs so I blew it on the post . I did not intend the post as any form of bragging or that I own these guns . Merely that this was the cailber of some of the weapons I've genunly seen in game . An yes the wepaon smiths mentioned really have crafted guns of those cailber an have also had runs of really bad ones too , but that's all part a crafting . It just seems it all depends on what batch of weapons happen to be for sale when you show up to purchase em . Sometimes you get lucky an some times you don't . Again apologize for being over eager on things an in future will just simply ask the basic questions and keep it simple. Thanks on the couple flames , an huggles for seeking info about the Republic Blaster =).
I'm on Eclipse and have seen some pretty close to these... though not DX2's, I've never seen a DX2 made on Eclipse.
I've not seen any of these on Eclipse so far so I cannot comment. I think I saw one SR Combat but it was so much worse than the FWG5 that I have I didn't pay it much attention. I've seen one tangler pistol, though I have no clue what they are supposed to do. On Eclipse, as far as I've seen for high end pistols... it's all FWG5,

Mine was 40-170 DMG, 2.2as, similar enough HAM's and a wound of 22ish before I sliced it. It's wasn't the best one offered either. There were a few at the same statsbut theattack speeds were around 1.5 - 1.7.
I sliced mine and dropped the speed down to 1.8.
Scout Blaster = 1.5 speed 65 - 132 damage 15 - 25 - 19 ham wound chance 13.21 ( non sliced )
That looks about rightfor Eclipse.
SR combat = 3.5 speed 75 - 120 damage 29 - 42- 37 ham wound chance 17.84 ( non sliced )
DX2 = 2.6 speed 88 -143 damage 19 - 27 - 21 ham 24.77 wound chance ( non sliced )

No idea to be honest, I'll start hunting around.
I've seen some as well. One theory is that you might get a certification after a certain faction rank. Might also be limited to a particular faction. That's wild rumor though...as I said, I'll help look around too.
I'm on Bria too. Wish I could find a DX2 like that. Guapo had some SR Combats last night that were close to those stats but a bit shy. My Origins Scout is a little better than what you listed.
I think I saw one Republic Blaster about three weeks ago on a vendor, but don't remember any of stats. Look in the Certifications area of your Skills window. The Republic Blaster shows up there now. I looks like it appeared with the recent update. I believe that the Cert itself comes from the Marksman tree. However, anyone that's tried to use it since the update is still getting the "You dont' have enough skill to use it" message. The faction standing with Naboo security could be needed, but that would be a strange requirement. I've also recently seen a couple people on the boards talking about the Naboo Royal Blaster. Don't know what that is all about. I has been confirmed that you can get a Republic Blaster via a quest NPC related to Lady Valerian on Tattooine. I'd like to get some answer as to if the Royal Blaster cert is bugged, misplaced, etc.
i wish we could have Dx2s on Starsider...every pistoleer is running around with scout pistols and occasionaly FGW5s
