Managed to tailor some hammers for a customer that were suprising to me...

He didn;t care about HAM since he buffs.. so I forget those stats... And didn't experiment them down anyway...

Max Dmg came out at 436 (ok.. not the best, but not bad either...)

The key item:

-8 accuracy to all ranges. woohoo.

I could get them to +0 accuracy, but the dmg really suffers.

How do these sound to the melee weap crafters out there?

Oh.. no enhancements.. no slices at this point. Just good materials and testing.

being a swordsman as well I dont notice a big accuracy problem.....at least not a big enough one to sacrifice damage for, maybe if this were a polearm...

My customer said he couldn't live with the -30 acc you get when you max out dmg. So we played a bit and came out with -8. He was very delighted. Customers are always right. :-)

Sure sure, i am just saying, in the context of this conversation.....I don't think he has an accuracy problem, maybe the number just bothers him because he came from a ranged profession where its always a big positive number or something.

I think I've been getting 460 on the DAM- which was better than the sliced ones I came across

I sell some improved range hammers with about the same stats as you posted. Of course, I still sell maxxed out damage ones and those are still the better sellers, but I do have some customers that swear by the better accuracy ones.

Every server is different. Just because you can hit 487 on your server does not mean someone on a different server with the best resources ever seen there can match.

Aye.. the hammers I refer to are not max damage. They are a hybrid, custom-crafted hammer tailored to a specific customer request.

For grins, try hitting -8 or +0 accuracy and keep 436 dmg. Then you can compare resources.

WIth some nice Geonosian Reinforcement Cores its easy to get a very nice idela range (I've had Ideal Range inabove +10) and still max out your damage.

One set of Cores I had yieled a powerhammer 5 more damage than my norm, only .2speed slower and ideal range +7

Aye.. I agree.. enhancements are a wonderful thing. But to compare apples to apples a bit easier, it is better to make weapons with base materials and see what you can get. Enhancements are a bonus.

As I mentioned in the original post...:

"Oh.. no enhancements.. no slices at this point. Just good materials and testing."

So based on the feedback, they aren't bad.

Well I sell and stock both ranges Master Swordsman that I know (in my guild) swear by the accurate PH's and even buy in crates now the novice 2H swordsman may not find this as useful but I am not sure that because they are new to the proffession or they really miss the damage as they output a considerable amount less than a master does.

Besides a half decen dmg slice on an accurate PH and one is unlikey to notice the missing damage in the end.
