First and foremost,SERVER BOARDS!

We're not interested in dropping everything to dash online and satiate your desire for "TEH MOST UBEREST T21 PLZ". Additionally, most of us are unlikely to play on your server. You know what forum people on your server will probably be reading? That's right, your server boards.

I don't like to clutter up this forum with sticky threads, but I have to. They quickly fall through the mass of spam and advertisements this forum receives. We have great ideas, discussions and testing going on, but these threads quickly get thrown off of the front page. So, show some courtesy for our community, please advertise on your own server boards.

Otherwise, your post will be rated one star by our annoyed smiths, and it will fall off of the page without anyone being able to view it.

Secondly, READ. THE. STICKY. THREADS.

What's the best thing to grind? Where do I find krayt tissues? What's a Vibro Motor? These are questions posted in ridiculous amounts that can be easily found by reading the sticky threads. Also, make use of the search function, you'll dig up goldmines of really helpful, informative threads. Best macro to use for grinding? Search > "macro". Hey, what do you know, a good thread on making grinding macros!

Lastly, swgcraft.com has a fount of useful information. Every server has different resources and these resources are constantly changing. Want to know how to make the most bling off of Weaponsmiths? Check out SWGCraft and look through Weaponsmith schematics. What do you know, you can easily see what resources Weaponsmiths use all the time! If you post that question here, we are just going to tell you the exact same thing: Go to SWGCraft.com.

Thanks for helping this community manage our signal to noise ratio!

The funniest thing I have come across on forums is how **edit** you people are about people asking questions... Isn't that what forums are for? Just for that I am going to post a 'how do i grind weaponsmith' for your overly pedantic attitude to those who seek anwers...

Why am I quoting the whole post? To get my point across. Logix if you truly feel this way about the boards I think it is time for you to step down. If I weren't a weaponsmith or had a decent amount of knowledge on the topic I would come here with my questions. I may wish to read the stickies and I may think that I would get an answer faster if I just made a post. What pisses me off the most is the weaponsmiths on this forum, they act like they always knew everything about weapons and tend to mock the lower level questions, and if someone posts something about needing a weaponsmith on such and such a server well if you don't like the post you really don't have to read it or take the time to respond to it. A lot of weaponsmiths I find on these forums or people that frequent the weaponsmith forum are the most rude people I have ever known.

That being said, Logix, if you actually read through your post and truly feel you can no longer be a considerate and helping voice of the weaponsmith community, resign.

Hmm just checked the date on the original post it seams it is rather old, so if you have any of these feelings still yeah I do think you should resign.

While I agree that perhaps the way the post is conveyed has a bit of a aggressive tone (Logix's post that is) I believe for the most part the idea was to try keep this forum focussed. If you look through other crafting forums you'll notice that many contain sticky threads for'hologrinders' and the like. There is nothing wrong with an FAQ - it's pretty common practice.

I read these boards frequently and I rarely see a genuine weaponsmith generated question 'mocked'. Point to me any post here that is from a "newbie weaponsmith" who asks a question about this profession that contains followup posts of older smiths making fun of them for not knowing. "Haha, he doesn't know what an advanced stock is, get off our forum noob!" ? I haven't seen any such thing.

Server specific requests may not require us reading it but it does require a slot on the forum, pushing everything down one space. If this went out of hand all this forum would be are "Looking for XYZ weapon on ABC server." These get lambasted.

There is nothing wrong with trying to keep our forum specific to our issues. People go on and on about forums are for everything; that may be true as a blanket statement but even within the forums there are more appropriate places. People wanting to talk aboutGCW issueswon't go post about it in the Ahazi Trade Forums.

You tell me - would you rather have to troll through 20 pages of threads that aremore suited to other forumsto find information that is important to us? I certainly don't. Nor do most of us. Nor do most any other crafting profession and their forums. So I'd not be so quick to open fire on Logix here.
