Thread: READ BEFORE POSTING
Trean wrote:Why am I quoting the whole post? To get my point across. Logix if you truly feel this way about the boards I think it is time for you to step down. If I weren't a weaponsmith or had a decent amount of knowledge on the topic I would come here with my questions. I may wish to read the stickies and I may think that I would get an answer faster if I just made a post. What pisses me off the most is the weaponsmiths on this forum, they act like they always knew everything about weapons and tend to mock the lower level questions, and if someone posts something about needing a weaponsmith on such and such a server well if you don't like the post you really don't have to read it or take the time to respond to it. A lot of weaponsmiths I find on these forums or people that frequent the weaponsmith forum are the most rude people I have ever known. That being said, Logix, if you actually read through your post and truly feel you can no longer be a considerate and helping voice of the weaponsmith community, resign.
I agree with Logix and think he's right -- and the right person for the job.
Do you know how many PMs he probably gets on a daily basis with stupid questions that are answered in sticky threads at the top of the forum? I'd be willing to bet its ridiculous.
Why should we help people, inarguably, too stupid to click on the "Penultimate Guide To Weaponsmithing" at the top of the page...or the weaponsmith FAQ...do you think these people who can't even comprehend the whole concept of researching information themselves are going to grow into quality weaponsmiths one day?
Additionally with all the stickied threads at the top of the page that answer so many questions that are asked every day on this forum by people who are too lazy to read them...why is Logix wrong? The stickied threads are there to help people, hell they helped me become a master weaponsmith in 2 weeks of grinding. I didn't have to post here asking the same silly questions that are already answered.
Finally...Logix is on target with his post. This forum isn't all about "helping the newb"...its about discussing weaponsmith issues. With the same redundant questions being asked over and over again by lazy newbs and hologrinders as well as all the SPAM...the forum has degraded into a stream of white noise. I hardly check this board because of it.
The discussion of issues related to weaponsmithing is the purpose of this forum. The purpose is not to answer the same questions over and over for people who lack the intelligence to click on one of the half-dozen threads stickied just for them at the top of the page. The purpose is not to SPAM your uber-l33t T21s or ask where you can get one. That is what the server and server trade forums are for.

Good Job Logix. 5 Stars for you for having the balls to say what you did.
I'll take it that the corispondent was refering to my post-in one way or the other- about looking for weaponsmiths on flurry that make carbines.
first off let me explain.
yes I posted this on my server board
yes I posted it here
yes I posted it on the carbineer board
The reason- not every player checks every board, hell half the time when you get into one forum it will take 10 minutes for another forum to load, so many people dont go surfing multiple forums. Also If smiths are too "busy being focused" to answer a small question(if they wanted to read it) then suck an egg. This may be the weaponsmith forum, but that does not make it for weaponsmiths only. It is for weaponsmith area questions. I would hope if someone comes on and asks a polite question it would not be too much of a bother for a simple answer. Top this off with how many people have quit, moved or moved on to another class and you may start to understand the need for the whole community to start fresh with a listing of vendors to help us(thats the guys that give you credits) out.
There use to be vendor listings stickied at the top of flurrys board to help people find vendors and not bother all you "focused types" but it is gone now. when I searched for it, it was so burried I figured it was not going to be much help
Sorry to be part of your problem
Hope you "focused types" can accept my SINCERE Appology

Unless your post was written ages ago it wasn't related to you. If you check, the post Logix wroteis dated 28th November of last year. This was just necroposted - so unless you are referring to a post you did last year, this wasn't because of you. It was just a general commentary

I did come to ask if there was a Radiant wookiee smith who can make me a bowcaster. So many empty vendors to search... so little time. But after reading this I'll refrain. Why be one-starred and mocked here, when I can be one-starred and mocked on my Galaxy forum!
I hope this sticky works for you. You have a lot of good discussion going on your thread - kudos!
