I have gotten some krayt tissue that I wanna craft a very nice gun out of and since I don't wanna spoil the tissue with a crit fail or moderate success I was wondering what precautions to take when crafting the ABPH

Thanks for every tip I get!

Being in a Research City helps a lot...

Having a WS Belt, although minor if you're a 10pt, still might help... (maybe, maybe not)

As for food, dunno. Bestine something, or acurpti? I forgot... I never used food for the assembly of items.

Thx! A WS belt? What is that and who makes them? And by the way, where to find a research city? Is it any city with "research" in its name? ANd where to craft in such a city? Lot's of questions, I know

You want to use Bespin Port for experimentation. A WS Toolkit is made by Tailors and they usually go for a couple hundred thousand each. It takes up the bandoleer slot. But it will only give you +3 experimentation, not much of a help. You can tell whether a city has the research bonus when you enter the city: you will see a system message saying the city name, size of the city, and the type of city bonus (i.e. Research Center).

In my experience, most big player cities use the Research Center bonus. Just travel around a little bit until you find one. Also, most such cities offer public crafting stations, sometimes in the city hall or in the city's mall (if it has a mall). Or just get a droid with a crafting station and use that.

Actually, it's a bandolier, which takes place of your backpack slot. So be careful. /mutters why can't it be like the Merc bandoliers and hold stuff.

It has a mod of +3Weapon Exp, +5 Assembly, +5 Weapon Repair - I think... Check with your local tailors... On my server, I've seen them from 30k up to 300k... Go figure...

As for Research city, just drive/shuttle into various towns... You'll see things like "You have entered New Haven (City, Research City)" or "You have entered Tal Kryt (Township, Increased Job Market)" ... You are looking for the Research City, for that gives you a bonus when crafting (forgot if it was experience or crafting assembly/experimentation bonus or what) ...

As for crafting itself... Use a portable crafting droid (I use mine all the time) ... or look for City Halls or PAs that might have crafting stations in them... Most large cities that are research cities sometime have the private crafting stations available for public use...

Hope that helps...

Also, get an inspiration buff from an entertainer (you just have to watch them, no grouping involved). It gives you a bonus to crafting, but its not clear what bonus you get .. but since you can get a buff easy, it doesnt hurt.

Personally, I seem to get more amazing successes with the buff ... but thats just a gut feeling ...

Thanks for the tips! Concerning the WS belt, would it do with +17 exp points in form of CA and then the belt to get 12 point?

yeah i have great results with those buffs aswell, im in a research centre and take bespin port also,

i was worried at first with them seperating the damage and speed line, as ive always been pure crafter so i cant even get glowy never mind the fs crafting lines , but with the buff ,food and res centre im able to grind out the same stats for weapons/components as a fs crafter , granted it may take me a couple more go's ,but not many.

I believe critical failures have been removed from the game. Also, I think FS Crafting is slightly better than Research Centre bonuses, although I stand to be corrected on that. Unfortunately, FS Crafting and Research Centre benefits apparently do not stack.

If you have a +17 CA (what kind of + is it for? Assembly or Experimentation? Going to assume Exp...) do *not* stick it in the WS belt... You'll end up with a very nice +17 Experimentation belt.

Stick it in something like... A belt (waist) or gloves, or bustier or something...

Yes, if you can get Experimentation up to 20+ (this goes for assembly as well) ... Then you'll be a "12" pointer.

G'luck!

They haven't been removed. I've had a couple of Critical Fails since the expansion. FS crafting improves your chance of getting better results definately though

Assembly is the stat that increases the success of your experiementation.

Find a Research center as most have listed, try thier mall, city hall, guild hall, or other large structures for crafting stations. Ask around on this or post something on your server's board to find one.

Get a weaponsmith tool kit (bandolier).

Get inspiration buffs from dancer/musician.

Add any assembly tapes to your crafting suit once you make 20 points for experimentation.

Do force sensitive quests for crafting skills for another assembly bonus.

Eat Pyrollian Cake (sp) before you create the item to get a better chance of creation success.

Drink Bespin Port before you experiment each time for a better chance at an experimentation roll. (recommend experimenting in groups, not one box at a time)

Do all of the above and you should have nothing short of great success mixed in with a few amazings here and there.

Errr isn't it Assembly tapes for the Assembly stage and Experimentation tapes for experimenting?

And if you want great or amazing all the time get FS Crafting. Since I got it 9 months ago i've never had less than a Great success.
