ladies and gentlemen, I have a hard thing to admit. Yes, I make weapons, and I'm good at it. Many many people enjoy my wares. However...(dramatic pause), my t-21's are terrible(Gasps from the crowd). I can't break the 7 second barrier, and my damage is too low. (woman faints).

OK, I'm sarcastic, but its true. I dont know if its the resources available on valcyn, or what, but my t-21's are so horrific, I WON'T EVEN USE THEM, and i'm a rifleman.

Its not me, my lasers, e11's pistols, everything else are superb. But t-21s come our like poop. I dont bothe rmaking them anymore. Especially since Spectre's pre-patches are still floating around(I have one )

Has anyone else had this problem?

T21's, Republic Blasters, E11 Carbines / Rifles, and Elite Carbines are some of the toughest weapons (IMO) to get good results on. They depend on resources that generally spawn with extremely low quality scores. About2 months ago I was making some pretty good T21s but haven't restocked on them since I sold out. The Atlantium Carbo Ore and Ditanium spawns just haven't been good enough to make anything I can be proud of.

Gallinorian Rainbow Gems and Polonium Iron spawns have been pretty decent on Flurry, but the other two are sub par. Link Steel Aluminum spawns have been great, though, and I can usually make up for the lack of T21s with good Laser Rifles.

no i don't have that problem... i have 911 OQ alantium 894 OQ Gallorian, 894 OQ Polonium and 938 OQ ditanium... sure my ADV t-21's don't get lower than 7.2spd (7.6spd with stock) but people still buy and use them like crazy... my stocked version come out @ 405 max damage, the regular are 365... i'm a master rifleman and carry both t-21's and a krayt laser on my chr... i find myself using the t-21 more often due to its lower damage variance rather than the laser (771 max damage no stock - sliced and powered)... even in PvP i find myself using a krayt stocked E11 or the t-21 rather than the laser... one good strafe2 and they are toast... the real key to the t-21 is the heavy AP not the max damage...

Using 823 OQ Alantium Ore, 846 OQ Gallorian, 913 OQ Polonium, and 995 OQ Ditanium and my Adv T21s(Adv BPH are 18-37 dmg, I forget the speed) come out at 7.3 spd, 133-364 dmg.

Make sure you're not comparing your T21 to another T21 with a stock. Being a new weaponsmith, when I opened my shop I accidentally informed my PA pretty much the same thing you said: my T21s are crummy, but my other weapons are good. Then I realized that I was comparing it to a stocked weapon. Oops! It was a pleasant surprise at least.

Jahar shoot me an ingame e-mail with the stats of the material you're using.

I fear it might be your Ditanium Steel as that material plays the largest role in the weapons outcome. The ore and gem and iron all play their parts but 150 units of steel per run, and if it's subpar is going to be a drastic hit to the gun.

If it's the ditanium I mgiht beable to help you out but not much. I only have enough myself for 40 T21's

7.1 is the best on the server I believe with all the best resources. I guess there is a slighly better polonium which might make them 7.0 it was only on Valcyn for 5 days and only on Dathomir a lot of folks missed it.

Question from a non-weaponsmith here.

I am a rifleman with a very nice skill tape which means I can fire rifles with a speed of 14.8 with my slowest attack and hit my speed cap. This means I am now willing to look for a weapon that has greater damage at the expense of speed (though ham needs to remain low).

My question is, is it possible to design/experiment purely for damage, or trade speed for damage?

Speed and damage are tied together in the same experimentation field. So when you experiment for damage, it also affects speed. Adding a stock tends to increase the damage while making the weapon somewhat slower, but even on the stock experimenting for damage also reduces speed at the same time(just not byas much). The problem with stocks, especially advanced stocks, is that they increase the HAM cost of the rifle/carbine quite a bit.

I wish I could even see if my T21's suck or not. I have been watching for the necessary resources for the last 2 months. Aside from being gone over Christmas and week where my HD crashed. I have just recently had polonium spawn, its pretty decent too, but have yet to see gallinorian gems on Bloodfin, of any stats much less good one. Got everything else saved up and waiting.

oh, it probably is the ditaneum. I have some of the 1000oq rainbow gem, so its gotta be that and the alantium.

maybe then 7.1/7.2 is the speed cap. I guess i was spoiled with the pre-nerfs around.

Thanks Edowar,

I had figured as such, but thought I had better ask.

I cant remember material stats off the top of my head, but my T21s are 129-353 / 7.3 unstocked, and I cant keep enough. Just recently bumped the price from 39995 up to 42995 each.

Whilst the server is down I have a crate of 25 on the boil for a customer, along with a crate of Jawa Ion's.
