Thread: Help on making money as novice.
Actually, the best answer to your question is to sell resources. The reason is that you should already be collecting resources since attaining master means nothing unless you have good resources to build with. After all, if you resources only let you experiment up to 60%, then you don't even need to be master cuz you only use 6 exp points.
So, while you are grinding up to master, you should have all you free lots working on harvesting good resources. This will naturally lead to a situation where a new resource comes along that is better than your old stuff. So, then you sell the old stuff at 3-4cpu and make plenty of money. Figure on selling about half of what you harvest, so if you don't have any new resources you need, just harvest steel or ore if its high percentage, or really anything that is high percentage. Getting 10K resources per day, times 5 harvesters, selling at 3cpu, is 150K per day. Your money troubles are over in no time.
So, don't make the most common WS mistake and grind up to master and say, "now what?". Be harvesting resources ALL the time, and sell what you don't need. You will need 40-50 different types of resources once you hit master, and eventually hundreds of types if you wan to have backups and rotate through your stock, which means millions ofunits of resources. If you gather them now you can be ready to actually sell weapons when you hit master.
Many good ideas here that I now wish I had done while I was leveling up the trees of WS. I ran mostly faction missions until i had at least 50k. Sell FP to a commandoe or other hardcore PvP player. Find a good spot of solar power, and harvest it until it dies. Then I'd do more faction missions until i had about 100k. I'd use my power to fuel my army of harvs, gathering crap metal and gemstone (I grinded almost exclusively on blaster rifle barrels). harvest grinding resources until you run out of money or it goes away. Spend next few days grinding at weapons station in your favorite city.
Rinse, lather, repeat.
note: Grinding is the boringest thing you can imagine.
factories only give 10% exp tho, and not many smiths make RL!
Run missions and expect to take a huge loss with WS regardless for at least your first 3 months after! you have made master. Millionare and WS quite often dont go together and when it does its because the smith has become old school!
The best way to make $ is to sell resources.
Thank you to everyone for all your help, you really have been one of the most helpful people on all of these boards.
I will continue my "grind" (i hate that word...) and hopefully be making a little money on the way ![]()

find a master weaponsmith, one to train you.... saves a chunk of money there
start buying (i know u need money), but start buying advanced components from him, a crate of advanced blaster power handlers, 25, what is that going to run?
