Thread: REMOVE AP1 from Jawa Ion Rifle
any of your weapons cut right through my armor maybe we should nerf them too while we are at it
how bout we just make every weapon equal, say 30-40 damage at 8.0 speed and no skill mods, AP0 and all armor at 99% resist all?

I cant believe the ridiculous **edit** flames i got from this, anyone who cant make a response w/otrying to make a reasonablecounterpoint w/o flamingsomeone cant possibly be given that much credibility,come onhere guys.
And what on earth would make anyone come to the assumption that i have crappy armor, or need better armor, i've managed to acquire armor far superior to the average suit of comp.
Do any of you guys wear full suits made of unique looted items custom designed for pvp/pve superiority?
Do you have a 90% helm made of 41% krayt segments with 255 mind cost (which does NOTHING for ion rifle mind you).
Or gloves made of the same segmentsthat are 77% with 10-12 ham,
or how about pants made of exceptional krayt scale and ns layers with 113 action, 75-80% to all with, as well as janta/ns helm all with stun layers included, which keep it mind will range from 4-8%, or only as high as 30% if it is specifically all out stun resist comp, in which all cases with the AP1 ion rifle is all less than negligible especially when its hitting your mind pool.
Or does any of this really mean anything to you guys? most likely not.

The fact of the matter is that NO stun weapon should be given AP given the properties of armor in general, as well as balance to weapons/profs.
Obviously these replies are coming from eitherrifleman that dont want their pwn all weapon reduced to an equally balanced weapon, or inexperienced pvpers that havent experienced enough aspects of pvp to understand the overpowerness of this strangely -new- fad that has become nothing less than a bandwagon to jump on.
I didnt mention a thing about taking away ap3 from t21s or ap2 from a mere laser rifle, we're talking about an ap1 stun weapon, the only one in the game, in which armor provides next to no protection to.
And it makes me embarassed for the people that mentioned my armor as the problem, or referring me to the AS boards for a solution there.
You guys havent by chance heard of RIS armor???? You know that really rare armor that has 4 different looted components to create, including needing multiple of some parts, and additionally requires a quest that uses all those items as well as chanlon which happens to be one of the rarest resources.
Yeah soin case you knownothing about it, the whole reason it was made was ....you guessed it, toprotect against STUN, and aside from the fact thats its extremlely expensive or time consuming to aquire the ingredients, guess what IT SUCKS, and is bugged.
It just makes me very disappointed in the general player base considering every reply was a single lined smart as s remark in the form a flame.
Is it that hard to believe that someone not yourselves know far more about the circumstances and problem than you could even begin to think of before replying a lame unsupported and incontructive reply?
I cant believe theres so many people like this on the weaponsmiths boards, i would hate to see how this post would go on the rifleman boards.
Enough said, dont post if your just gonna flame, this is obviously a balance problem currently and should be dealt with constructive feedback, i know that isnt the first time you've heard that said.
with the way the resists on armor currently work anything under 26% effectiveness is better LEFT at a vulnerability... Armor piercing doesn't currently work against vulnerable armor damage types... only effectiveness and special protection (special DOES make AP weapons apply damage at 1 AP level lower, AP2 into AP1 etc.)... if you find yourself fighting a rifleman take off your composite so they can blast you with the T-21... either way your kissing dirt (my alts a rifleman... good luck)
if the jawa is nerfed there will be almost no call for it... esp with all the bleedin power handlers it takes... and those krayt jawa rifles are getting harder and harder to find since the 300k ham increase on the krayt dragons

About 90% suit I have one :-p and I only used 70% base to get it!

Yeah thats definetly doable, one of the great things about krayt composite is that itssignificantly lighter compared to a standard craft of equal resist composite, especially if the armorsmith doesnt have any extra exp pts.
Mine had a base of 77% while at 255 mind unliseced, didnt take a big slice to hit 90%.
You come to a weaponsmith board asking to nerf a weapon that would cause losses in sales, and your surprised by the responce??

I know I'd never suport a nerf to the Jawa rifle. Seek sympathy elsewhere.
Jawa ion rifle has become a big problem as its a weapon that composite doesnt normally protect against, although you can get stun layered armor, but consdering the fact that the rifle is ap1 it makes the 4-30% very negligible and for some reason has of late become very popular with a simple strategy of kiting while master headshot with ion rifle to any armored target, stun layered or not.
Removing AP1 from ion rifle would significantly reduce the PvP effectiveness of the rifle as an own all weapon so that rifleman would not be so overpowering from max range, aside from the fact that theyre gonna keep running away to get their ideal range.
One other problem is that the ion rifle is THE ONLY stun weapon able to use krayt tissues or any lootable component, making a rifleman with some good tissues able to have the most effective pvp weapon imaginable, all other stun weapons arent half as effective with their provided profession, whens the last time you saw the 'best pvpers' using tangles and stun batons.
I realize that this is just now becoming popular which is completely beyond me as it has always been like this, rifleman were too busy focusing and whats wrong with their profession when they cant focus on what good about their prof, because i've had just as much intention to use a stun weapon but none of the others come close to the effectiveness.
Something that needs to be dealt with.
How about this... Give AP 1 to tangle pistols... that way pistoleers can kite the composite junky too!
Heh well you can undestand that guy (maybe). He gets some very expensive set of Composite. Comes to town to brag about how uber he are and then gets killed by riffleman that use weapon that costed no more that 10k 
Which just ignored his uber set of composite and sucked all life out of him.
Well doohh man you could always have asked AS to add few Stun layers into your godly composite (heh but then you wouod have problem whit protection jumps but thats another story)
And as someone said if you dont have any protection vs some type then AP of weapon will be ignored. Check AS forums
