As a wookie, I wanted the ability to make myself a really great bowcaster when I first started the game. Although bowcasters really aren't as great as I think they should be, by the time I realized that I was already hooked

I wanted to make great low-skill, mid-skill weapons for noobs sold at the bazaar (5678cr). Every master WS makes great geo blasters, schytes, DE-10 and DXR-6. I want to make the affordable weapons great. I want to help the nOObs.

I noticed I was paying way to much for pistols and got tired of paying such high prices (from well known WS's)... and once I did find a good Ws, they retired... so enough was enough... I become one... and I love it so far, somethings are costly.. such as loot... but I'm like a spider... I don't mind waiting from the good things to come my way....
atm... I keep all my cost down, so all the new players, only have to do a mission or two before they can get a really nice weapon to keep up with the big gun

I was a tailor for several months before dropping that for weaponsmith. I wanted to do a crafting profession where the resource stats actually made a difference to the end product, hence the switch. The reason I picked weaponsmith rather than anything else was because there are no organic materials required to make weapons, so I don't have to worry about killing/harvesting animals or getting someone else to do it when there's a good spawn. I just pop my harvs down and come back in a few days - far less time-consuming than having to try and get a decent amount of hide/meat/whatever.

When I first started this game I was big on PvP and a pretty obsessive gun nut. After 5 months of pvp I decided to take a break and do the Jedi grind. WS was always something I fancied and so rather than be a whore to the holo, I mapped out my own career progression making sure that once I got Weaponsmith I would keep it.... Now I play my smithy everyday for around 6 hours a day... the Jedi gets dusted off once or twice a week.

I'm a Master Doctor and love makin'/craftin'/harvesting stuff. I was a TKM, but I just don't dig the combat thing as much as the craftin' thing. My guildies think I'm a little crazy, but my Master Commando hubby loves it! I like healin' people and making weapons of mass destruction. There's nothin' wrong with that, right?
I have 1 box to go until Master Weaponsmith, so I'm glad to be a part of this profession! I haven't seen anyone on these forums be mean or immature, so that's really kind of a relief. Thanks for making this forum a great resource guys!

Let's see...why I started WS. I was originally a MDE, did ok, gathered alot of OQ/CD materials. But my character went through some drastic changes. I love crafting and couldn't stay away from it. So I figured: 1) WS was closest to DE, 2) I love making weapons (did it before in another game), 3) and my city at the time needed a fulltime WS, so I stepped up. I consider my greatest accomplishment in-game was becoming a full-service WS, being able to create good/great weapons of all types.
My only regret (sometimes) is that I don't have any extra skill points to take any 'vacations' now and then. lol But I love being part of such a great group of people.

I was rich, and I was bored. It never really turned into more than a hobby for me. I had a small time shop with a very small customer base. In the end, I ended up doing bulk melee orders for a guild member who sliced and resold. I'm finally giving it up since I'm done with ground combat and using the resources for our guild Shipwright.

I no longer remember what motivated me to become a weaponsmith. I remember reading the boards for the first month after release (before I bought the game) and WS just sounded fun. But I didn't want to have to try and break into an existing market on an established server (I'm lazy that way), so I told myself I'd wait and make my WS toon when a new server opened up.
I bought the game on 28 July 2003, and SOE opened up Tempest and Shadowfire on 1 August. Good timing on my part, I guess. I sometimes wonder why I've stuck with it this long, and I guess it comes down to the fact that I enjoy providing people with a quality product at a reasonable price (except for T21s, I hate making those bloody things).
