What differences have you noticed, if any?

I've noticed that when I've crafted a component or something and got a 28% before, I get 29% now. It acts as the resources are 2%better than what you used.
Maybe it works on dimishing returns, like everything else now, so if your quality is 990, the 2% doesn't help you as much as having a quality of 70% would. Just a guess.
Try crafting stocks with the new buffs and let me know what happens.
The speed is now higher. I start out at i think it was 1.752 or 1.702 with the new buffs. Somehow this is bugged as without the buffs my speed starts out lower, i think around 1.4 or so.
Another WS informed me of this on my server so i tried making some stocks and got the exact same beginning stats. We use the same resources.

As above + I also where able to double cap feathers easier and on unenhanced HLR I could get 4 more max dam. Got my stocks down from 1.9xx to 1.5xx aswell

I still dont like it and I would have much rather worked to get here. It doesnt feel like an accomplishment at all. That being said, Im happy it went in as only 2% and not 10% the latter would have been very very damaging to our profession.
What level of help do you believe this offers?
To our profession? None, the best will still be the best, just better (and closer to perfect
), new smith will still be short on good resources and have to work their way to the top (which I believe is good, asfinding better resourceswas a challenge I enjoyed and still enjoy
)

They have made us get closer to perfect without having to work for it. I dont feel like ive accomplished anything. Sure I can make better weapons, but that is not because of me or something I have done, but because of a buff.
Furthermore I hope that we will see more musicians cause all day yesterday I only saw 2 and I traveled around a fair bit. One thing is certain: as a WS you are now fully dependant on Musicians and unable to craft anything should there not be any available.
I guess the positive side is that I meet even more people.

Disclaimer: I don't know how to program computer software, so what I'm about to say may not be possible, but...
I woud be more positive if the buff didn't work on subcomponents (that way I can meep the 4000 power handlers,the multitudes of stocks, barrels,scopes, etc etc I have made without it buggin me).

Personaly I dont think SOE is trying to do this
You have to understand that people that opt to collect and sell premium rescources also spend countless hours in game looking for these... And in turn they want a good amount of credits for them...
It's all about service. The 2% buff probably just added at least 5 new individual spawns to each and every type of rescource we have in SWG, thus pushing them into the usable (exensive) top category rescources. So in a way it actually promotes and strengthens the position of rescource resellers / hoarders.
