When this all started post CU the word was

Speed + DMg on sub components because DPS is all.

Now... not so much DPA is god or so the debate rages

I've got some components that are 10 points to Speed and 2 points to damage (varies with exp results of course)but in my opinion my SAC cost is not really manageable.

So making new runs as these components run out and have been doing Damage maxed then balane of points into SAC.

Am I on the wrong track here? Starting to get a bit frustrated *chuckles*

You need to add Rifle Stocks for lower SAC... I can experiment my rifle stocks down to -24 Action Cost using good wood and metals. And in my opinion you should always throw 1 or 2 points at the "Efficiency" for the final product, and the rest at "Damage".

EDIT: I notice that you are on Starsider, which has the best Corellian Hard Wood EVER spawning right now.. but you'd better hurry. It has 997 OQ, and 700 SR (wood caps at 700 SR)

use your points to max out sac first. the points used in dam doesnt really make that much of a diffrence, those used in sac however makes a great one

I think you are talking about SUBCOMPONENTS experimentation there?

Yeah I think he is.. interesting... so basically back to the drawing board.

Now I am reading it right that certain weapons will only use ADV components now right? Best example I can come up with was the trick of using an non adv Stock on a weapon over an adv one.

Am I right on this or on the wrong track as usual?

Yeah I am talking subcomponents

on Final assembly of any weapons I ahve been maxing damage then dropping balance into SAC if it is a master level weapon or Speed if it's a novice level weapon.

i'm doing a balance now between sac and speed/damage.

I put some points to speed so i have that minimal increase. I do that on all subs.

Then it's time for sac to be lowerd and if i can 1 or 2 points into damage.

On subcomponents I put 8 points into SAC and keep trying until I get an amazing success...this brings SAC to -8. Then I put the remaining four points into speed (again, I keep trying until I get amazing succeses on both parts). On the final combine I max out damage and put the rest (usually 2 or 3 points) into speed. I find this is a good balance between damage, speed and SAC for most purposes. Naturally I'll go all DPS or all SAC if someone wants a custom weapon made that way. And always put a stock on a weapon that'll take one. My 2 creds.

SubComps:

Damage - Very minor differences typically only 1:1 ratio or very close to it.

SAC - Moderate Benefits

Speed - Good Benefits

On the subcomps you will find that there is very little benefit to experimenting on Damage, so that leaves only SAC and Speed to invest your points into. Since speed has less of a Major impact on the final weapon I concentrate on SAC. SAC on the ABPH's caps at -8, so I typically invest 6pts first (if you get an amazing on this it will save you one point to use elsewhere), then I invest 1pt at a time until I hit the -8 SAC on the component (usually only 1-2 more points needed to hit -8. After SAC is taken care of I invest the remaining points into Speed which will give you the best overall increase for each point left.

On the final combine I max Damage first since this is really the only place to work on damage which I consider to be a very important stat second only to SAC. Once I max damage or get close enough to the MAX I will invest the rest of the points into SAC. This typically gives you a very low SAC weapon with good max damage and moderately good speeds.

I use usually around on components 10 on speed 2 on efficiency.

Regarding stocks I experiment them to -13 SAC and 0.01 speed, which I think is a good balance.

Cheers,

Flossi
