nah, they rarely want anything more than a grinding macro and training. Plus, it gives them a healthy respect for what we do. Very very very few holosmiths will want to compete with an established master smith. It takes too long to gather the good resources to be competitive if you're just passing through on your way to the next blue box.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

My only issue with holo-grinders is those that insist upon Heavy warhead mechanism grinding.

They'll post in the server forums/Trade forums for weeks on end trying to buy 3 relatively uncommon materials at "grinding prices".

If they'd just bite the bullet, get some frickin steel, and do what they need to do instead of trying to take the easy way out, I could care less.

I will say that at least 2/3 of the grinders do choose to do the steel barrel-barrel method.

Ponder this.

Imagine the multi-million experience grind with only the /Select draft schematic and no such thing as a practice mode. 50 items in the inventory and it's circular-menu-delete-time.

Consider yourselves lucky you ingrates =D

Pfooco

Exactly the reason why I could not care less about holo-smiths or holo-grinders in general, they are clueless jacks-of-all-trades and master of none, regardless of title

No I don't resent them, there's nothing to resent.I have very littlerespect for them. They just create a ton of crappy smiths running around and make it harder for someone to find the real smiths with quality weapons.

A few, a very few may like weaponsmith and actually become good smiths. Those I'd welcome happily to the ranks, the rest can just go way and grind their next profession.

I may be the only holo-smith who thinks getting resources is fun.

Gonna make a bunch of rifles. For myself though, I'm to greedy to sell anything I make off.

The only thing I resent about holo-grinders in general is that they tend to throw the economy out of whack by buying up massive amounts of resources. Even if they're buying crap resources, they still tend to increase the price of all resources.

I'm not so sure a holo-MWS will really appreciate what we do. They might appreciate the long grind we went through, but most of them won't stick around long enough to spend 3-4 months building up a good supply of resources or trying to build a customer base. So they will have no real appreciation of what it takes to be a successful WS.

On the plus side, holo-grinding increases demand for weapons (among other crafted goods), so maybe it kinda equals out in the end.

The only time I resent them is when I get emails or tells looking for grinding metal...

They don't know about the massive storage problems we face (armorsmiths are just as bad off - chefs would prolly be the next in line)

They don't realize that we can't keep crap metals around... in fact the only ones that prolly keep massive quanitities on hand is the miners... i've sold off metals for grinding only once and that is when I had a recently mined resource turn obsolete overnight and had 400k to get rid of

Two things...

First, your statement shows just how ignorant you are concerning the weaponsmith profession. At a minimum it takes 2 months to gather the resources required to be competitive across the board with established weaponsmiths.

Second, people that post in caps usually have nothing of value to say. In this case, the stereotype holds up well.
