No one should resent the hologrinders. For every one that says, "OMG EZ PROFESION LOL" there will be two that see the trouble it takes to get 500k steel, let alone the resources nessecary for a T21.

I don't care... their weapons aren't worth owning most of the time so it doesn't affect my sales. The only time they bother me is when asking for cheap materials. Heh.

Him - yo whats the fastest way to grind weaponsmith?

Me - Well the most straightforward way is to get around a half million of steel, do metal staves til firearms 1, then projectile rifle barrels all the way.

Him - nah man I'm already doing that, whats faster

Me - Well if you're prepared to go look for some specific resources in large quantities, heavy warheads are quite good for speeding through the rest of the skill boxes, it just requires a few named resources which may slow down prep time .... so you're better off going with barrels and staves.

Him - Ok.

About an hour passes ...

Him - yo man whats the fastest way to grind weaponsmith

Me - We already had this discussion ... ?

Him - yah man but this is bs, it's too slow

Me - Where are you at in weaponsmithing?

Him - novice, been doing this forever and still only like 10k xp done

Me - Well I'm sorry but that's just how it has to be done.

More time passes ...

Him - yo man theres got to be a better way than this total bs

Me - ....... well if can grab several hundred thousand faction points, you could convert them to training and master the profession in no time!

Him - Sweet, can u give me some faction

They don't bother me, and as a resource vendor, I like them buying up all my steel and such. I don't quibble on price, and I don't gouge in the first palce, so I am happy, they are happy.

I just laugh at all the 'Mr Potato Heads' running around being sucked in by the artificial method imposed by SOE to make the game last a few months longer. If they truly understood the RPG in MMORPG, they would have made this game quite different.

Resent them? No. As has been previously stated, they are but passing through the profession, and as such, make a good source of apprentice XP. They know balls about making weapons (because all they did was grind) and have none of the resources they need to make stuff consistently, and consistently good. Most do not have the patience to sit around and await the resource cycle shifting until they gather all that they need.

There is one holo-WS on Tempest I have an immense amount of respect for (you know who you are), as she mastered it not FOR her holo, just trying to knock out professions... and she enjoyed it so much, she put the time in to learn what it means to become a master weaponsmith. She now produces quality weapons and I'm proud to have her as a peer.

exactly as the other have said, they drop it as soon as they get it. Weaponsmithting is a GREWAT profession if you can stick with it. Holo grinders just get it, and drop it.

I am holo grinding archy, and I pose ZERPO threat to any architect, since i refuse to get a factory, therefore i cant even make houses really.

Also, FYI, architect grind.... SO easy. the real problem is getting all the ore. but at 525 per grind, it takes 15 minutes to get a 1st level box.

Heh. I'm glad you like the profession. But see this is why I can't take holo-smiths seriously.

I've been a Master Smith longer than I've been registered for the forums, and my name probably would come up in the 'Top 20 of Ahazi' if there were such a thing. I got a tell the other day from someone who had ground up to WS, wanting to be my partner because he was so 3l33t and had 'at least 200K of great steel' to contribute.

Heh. Whatever.

There is more to Mastery than the title. I realized that when I was selling Scout Blasters to pay my way up the tree, and I realized it even more when I got the 10 experiment points and still wasn't up to snuff. I don't resent them. This isn't architect where they can grind up and drop small houses and screw up the market. Yeah they can offer all the 2K scout blasters they want... they're speed 2.3 and dam 115, what do I care?

I opened my first holo and it told me Master Weaponsmith. I am almost done with this, I am currently 3/4/0/4. I have to say, I respecte weaponsmiths alot more than I use to. Just the amount of resources they have to go through to become master is insane.

I was curious and was thinking about makinga Light Lightning Cannon but I almost **edit** myself seeing on many resources needed just to make it. So to all you weaponsmiths out there, I understand your profession alot more now.

When my holo told me weaponsmith, I groaned because I had never done a grinding profession other than grinding medical stuff to be a master doc. I'm actually glad I got it now cause I understand how tough the weaponsmith profession can be and how much dedication it takes.
