I was under the impression weapons could not go below 1.0 firing speed? I have just crafted a few krayted scout blasters. And after having them sliced they read 0.7 - 0.9 speed on some. The damage ones are 1.0 speed and like 300-320 max damage.
Just me or is this odd?

i have had a few pistols that were below the 1.0 range. i think (could be wrong) there is some type of coded hard stop inside my player that makes me 1.0 regardless of what gun i use. i have shot with 2.2 speeds and 1.5 speeds and they all tend (at master pistol) to shoot at the same rate in my combat spam. so i think there is some type of stop built into the combat system

all proffessions cap out at 1.0 regardless of pistolspeed+player mod. I know that
however ive never seen a pistol come out like this

the maximum you can fire is 1.0s
however gun speed factors into that along with your skill mod and speed mod of the special used.....so it'll help hit that 1.0 att speed on a slower firing special

Here's how I understand it. No gun can fire at a speed lower than 1.0. So, when you do an /attack with that weapon, you will be firing at 1.0. But, let's say you do a special that requires 2 * delay. 2 * 0.7= 1.4. 1.4 > 1 so that means that your specials will be EXTREMELY fast with that weapon.

.7 is still very useful to pistoleers who do not dabble in bounty hunter...... many specials have a delay (x3, x4, etc.) and with the .7 speed you fire many specials at the cap and could make yourself quite a bit of profit for novice marksman trying to get some pistol skills

Check this--read the guide to weapon speed and the calculator is one of my favorite things to use. If anyone can help him get the other profession's specials on there it would be great. I don't know how to insert a link but this is it:

lets say ur at some differnet stages in pistol speed skill
at
+0 pistol speed with normal atack it 1.0 s ... the special attack if its a 2x normal speed delay will be 1.4s
at +25 p. speedull get a speed of 1.0s with normal atack ull get a 25% reduction on the speed but since it caps at 1 ull not notice it ... but for the 1.4speed ull notice it and get a 1,05s delay instead ...
everything over this will just cap u on 1.0s
this is the reson for riflemans being overpowerd ... since they have a 90% reduction as masters and with +7 skilltapes on that they will be able to do any special attack at 1.0s
for example lets say a t21 is 9.0 speed this is high for all servers... then the special attack is 18s if its dubble time ... and then a 90% reduction takes u to 1.8 speed but if u got that extra +7speed tapes u get it to 0.54 and thats in the cap at 1second
so a rifleman with +7 speed can shoot a 9.0 with something that delays 3.5times and still cap at the 1.0s marker .... thats one of the biggest issue that SOE have to bother taking care of since this speed system in my opinion is not that fair....

Some wicked Tortilla guns have reached 0.0
The weapon itself can go all the way down to zero, but the cap on firing is 1.0
However, a 0.0 speed weapon would fire at 1.0 REGARDLESS of the user's skills.
