it was an fwg5..... that and the 700+ damage ones were why they were nerfed

everyone keeps thinking it was the 200+ damage ones, because those uber pistols were so rare

.7 is still very useful to pistoleers who do not dabble in bounty hunter...... many specials have a delay (x3, x4, etc.) and with the .7 speed you fire many specials at the cap and could make yourself quite a bit of profit for novice marksman trying to get some pistol skills

As a Master Pistoleer you could fire any special at the speed cap with a pistol speed of 0.7

Basically, 0.7 speed is the same as 1.0 speed because of the hard cap of one second for all weapons and speed mods.

at 1.1 you can fire anything at the speed cap (well all the pistoleer specials anyway)

i have a 1.1 speed, 85-225 dmg scout blaster that i use quite a lot because it fires fast and doesn't drain my HAM

very true

As you can see the only shot that doesnt fire at speed cap is stopping shot.. which is 1.1

This cap is in place for server stability reasons. Because of this, I doubt we'll ever see ourselves firing at the rumored 0.5 second cap talked about several months ago.

That isn't to say we won't be really fast comparatively in the future...

yes you can techinically craft a weapon that gets below 1.0 spd, but your actual firing speed will still be 1.0...we had several weapons turn out with 0.0 0.1 etc...but they fired just as fast as a regular weapon at cap.

To say that .7 speed is ultimately the same as 1.0 speed is not entirely accurate. The .7 will fire at 1 second for non-special attacks but the .7 gun will fire specials faster than a 1.0 gun.

LOL

Even if the gun says 0.7 seconds, it's still just 1.0 seconds. 1 second is the hard cap for everything, meaning that extra 0.3 seconds won't count.

Okay let me restate that, previous poster made me realize i wasn't clear enough. The specials speedmultiplier is multipled by .7or 1.0. Aspeed modifier of 3.0 x .7 is faster than 3.0 x 1.0. Of course the character's weapon speed is also calculated so the extra .3 may or may not help you. If you hit the cap with all specials with a 1.0 gun then of course the .3 won't help BUT if there are some specials that you are still firing at 1.2 or 1.4 seconds, the.7 gun will multiply lower than a 1.0 gun and may get your specials from 1.2 to 1.0. Use the caclulator! I sure hope that thing is accurate though hehe.

hard cap is based on weaponspeed and player mod + skills tapes/attachments. 0.7 could still help alot of people. Not trying to plug my gun but never the less its still handy

It should sell well to low-ranking pistoleers who have lots of money to burn. My speed mod is only +30 (Novice Pistoleer), so when I compute my potential DPS, a speed-slice almost always helps me more than a damage slice. Fortunately, I get speed slices 90% of the time. Of the last 17 pistols I had sliced, I only got 3 damage slices!!! I would kill for one of those scout blasters, boy! Wrong server, though.
